| We got over the line and won the first play off battle, that's the main thing. The performance in that game isn't that relevant, as we progress to the semi-finals, in which we can hope that our performance improves against HKR. I think most will agree that we will need to be at a higher level than we were against Saints, but that may not be necessarily so, as it's all on the day for both us and HKR.

| Quote: Smiffy27 "I'm not sure you are right. It is an attractive & popular idea that we just have to have our heads right & we'll win ... but I'm not so sure. We lacked a bit of power vs. Saints & also when we last played HKR. With Wigan it is power & skill.
I believe our mental strength has been great but I think we lack the raw power when both top sides are on their "A" game. Hopefully wrong, of course.'"
I understand where you're coming from and you could be right.
It's rarely just 'one' thing, but specifically for Wigan if I had to chose one thing it would be the mental side - and the lead up to the game is so important.
Skill and power wise - well we won't be doing much this week that's for sure. I don't think we can influence that too much
My guess is (and I am just making this up so please be gentle!!) -
Sunday - rehab
Monday - off
Tuesday - video analysis (both Saints match and the HKR ones) and a light session
Wednesday - drills and some contact, fixing anything that needs fixing
Thursday - HKR specific things
Friday - captains run and match

He probably didn’t know he’d kicked it until this morning. He’s absolutely useless, Moore.

A bit harsh. He clearly knew Williams had kicked it, he was just desperate to find absolutely [iany[/i reason to disallow it. Takes time to think of such things. Thankfully he couldn’t quite find anything to use against us.

| Does anyone know how I can watch the full match online but from Skys coverage? I’d like to see the post match interviews etc as I know they interview Sam. BBC’s post match coverage was crap.
And yes I have tried ringing the club shop but they were closed.

Honestly, this just smacks of Saints style victimisation, he obviously has to make sure there are no isuues before awarding the match winning, heartbreaking (for them) dg.

There are extended highlights on the Super League YouTube channel. And they use the Sky commentary. For interviews Skysports.com usually has it all on the 'video' section of the RL subsite.

| Just watched the game back, and on reflection we were about 6 or 7 out of 10. Saints, particularly in the first half, hit close to what they can deliver on their best day (currently, yes they’ve been better, and probably will get better again, but in that moment in time, they couldn’t have done anything more).
That could give comfort, that we have more gears to go through as the test next up is significantly more challenging. But equally, we need to find a way to find calm in the chaos.
We’ll need to defend kicks in the corners well, particularly Thewlis’s side, having seen what they did to Leigh. I think back to basics is best here, Yates, Powell and Vaughan start and just be comfortable and disciplined early on.

I hear what you're saying - and Friday night will certainly be a very stern test - but I think we are actually downplaying how good a win that was on Saturday. We have got used to an under-strength Saints side being pretty average this season, but their starting 13 on Saturday contained nine of the players who became world champions just last year. They showed how good they can still be - yet we still beat them. We weren't perfect, admittedly, but it was still one hell of a win, especially given how we had to come back not only from 12 points down but also from the psychological blow of conceding that try at the death. We have a team to be proud of.

| I couldn't agree more with The Speculator's post above (without being weird if I could double thumb it, I would).
The score before half time was pivotal as I'm sure that Burgess has instilled that 'we are never out of the game' mentality particularly a one score deficit. BUT to regroup and galvanise after a last minute equaliser shows some steel that we see all to rarely in such a big game environment.
BRAVO
