Don't understand how people can make excuses not to go to a game like this. We have around 8000 season ticket holders, don't understand how they pay hundreds to watch what includes some pointless fixtures/non contests eg London at home, but then won't go to our biggest game of the season so far? I understand a few will be on holiday etc but Huddersfield is hardly too far to travel on a Sunday evening especially with it being school holidays for kids.

Anyone else going by Train? How far is it from the pubs & ground?.

I'm going by train. The ground is a 15 minute walk from the station and there's plenty of pubs.

As Dropkick says, it's about 15 mjnutes. If you like real ale you will love Huddersfield.

Yes, getting on at Stalybridge so only a 20 minute journey for me.

there is a pub on the train station at hudds,gets a bit packed tho!! , good pub bout ten min walk from station , near the ground, forgot the name of it !!they do good meals there as well

gunna be wearing my lonsdale trainers shorts from matalan wires top dont know which one yet my lucky y fronts from primark in manchester and a pair of ankle socks i got from a cheap stall in kendal

Just to let you guys know the Gas Club will be open on Sunday form 2pm and will also be doing food so i've been told.

Plus there are 2 pubs at the Station ......Kings head to the left and Head of Steam to the right - from the main entrance. Safe journey to all thats coming over !!

Cherers Daz, is there a decent curry house near the train station for the journey home? We are on a mini version of the Ale Trail and might be ready for some apres game 'solids'

Not sure how good they are as i've never been but the nearest ones i can think of are

Nawaab - which is just around the corner from the station - follow the road that runs through St Georges square round to the left and its just across the crossroads.

Chilli Lounge - literally at the side of the George Hotel( away from the station)

Shabab, which is further into town, turn left at the crossroads in the square, if you've come from the ground, and follow New Street past Mcdonalds, KFC, and its down a little alley on your left across from Yorkshire Bank.

Or Balooshai central, turn right at the st george's square crossroads, past Tesco and turn right to the railway arches and its down there.

I'd go with either Chilli Lounge or Balooshai from that list and they're also the easiest to find. Another boozer I'd add in is The Sportsman, as you come out of the station turn left at the George Hotel and it's on the left just past the railway bridge.
