He said that the Jackie Edwards he played with was one of the best he has ever seen but Jackie had to finish the game in his 20's because of a back injury.

Yes, it is. He is Shauns dad.
No matter what a certain Mr. Murphy tells, just ask him who was the Lancashire scrum half at schoolboy level?
My mum who is 89 next month tells me that she went watching Lancashire v Yorkshire schoolboys in the early 1950s and it attracted a crowd of over 17,000.
In that Lancashire team were Alex Murphy, Jackie Edwards, David Bolton and I think she said Keith Holden.
Three of those players went on to play for Wire at some stage of their careers. |

I have just rang my friend and he says that Jackie signed for Warrington at midnight on his 16th birthday and Alex Murphy signed for Wigan a week later on his 16th birthday. My friend says that although Murphy was one of the best ever, if Jackie had not been injured he would have gone on to be better than Murphy.
