| Quote: WireDOA'88 "Maybe it's him that is the real culprit in all of this?'" We could continue to blame Briers for everyone, or we could accept that players are responsible for thir own performance.
For much of last year Briers played on the right, and Monas played on the left. Tactically there was little link between the two.
Monas was pretty poor for much of it. That's nothing to do with Briers. That is to do with Monas.

I wouldn't say it is just him, I just think he is the leader of this little pack of players who can't be bothered at all.

I'm confused. Too many rumours to keep up with.

Also - I saw one bloke with a busted nose at half time. Overhearing urinal chat - it sounded like one of our own fans had smacked him. Does anyone know what that was all about?'"
There did appear to be some heated arguments going on between some Wire fans, but I didn't see any actual violence. A few fans had to be asked to calm down by the stewards, but there didn't appear to be anything too out of hand.

| Why do we insist on scrapping with each other when we lose.
I thought we'd left that behind at Wilderspool, or the JJB/McAlpine, in 2002?

| Quote: sirlesboyd "I am delighted that a player finally gesticulated to our "supporters" after being subjected to abuse.
So please get off your high horses about him showing the finger. The behaviour of a fair number of individuals on this forum and at the ground is far worse than Matt Kings actions.
I wish that a couple of seasons ago Mike Wainwright had given the fans the old two fingered salute after the constant criticism he took or Jon Clarke had after the abuse directed his way.
How supporters expect players to perform to the best of their ability whilst being subjected to the barrage of criticism they constantly receive from Warrington fans is beyond me.
So lets continue in this vein shall we ... lets boo King onto the pitch next week because thats sure to make him perform better. Lets abuse Monaghan during the game because its really going to improve his performance isnt it.
And lets all boo the team if they concede the first try of the match next week as seems to now be the norm.
So, fair play to you Ma tt King - I'd love to stick 2 fingers up to a number of Warrington fans as well.'"
i take it you never went
But us that went,
us that paid more or less £100 (travel, tickets, spending money etc)
us that watched a team that didnt look interested in playing just have to show our fustrations by shouting to the player your not fit to wear the shirt
King is a disgrace get him sacked cant play rugby
shows no respect

[quote="Rogues Gallery":xjc47q2r]Wire - the enigma. They could finish top or eighth, who knows.[/quote:xjc47q2r]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7749.jpg |

Firstly he never gave the finger he made some sort of hand gesture nobody could see for sure what it was.
Secondly it wasn't directed at either set of fans. It was directed at the absolute bag that was giving him abuse for no reason.

17064.jpg How can I miss you, if you won't go away????:17064.jpg |

| Reading all these various accounts of what happened, it seems to me that we aren't a million miles away from an 'Eric Cantona' moment occuring at a Wire game.
Personally, while I'm as hacked off as anybody about recent displays, and that certain players need to be looking at themselves in the mirror very closely, I cannot condone supporters singling out players for abuse.
By all means criticise the team as a whole, even boo if you want to, but picking out individuals can only produce a negative effect....Having read the evidence, if I was King I wouldn't be too keen to give my all for supporters whose idea of 'supporting' is to dish out drunken abuse.

12130.jpg As Emo Philips said "You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older. Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman: Stuff you pay good money for in later life.:12130.jpg |

| The problem is that some people who watch us are genuinely thick and have no idea about acceptable behaviour. They always like to pick a scapegoat, be that King, Monas, Clarke, Penny or previously Wedge.
They tend to ignore the other 16 who took part and just pick on one.

I have it on good authority that it's nearer an alledged £180K per season, but still a wee bit more than Noble earns coaching Wigan for example.

Because he was the closest person to abuse unfortunately.

When we are talking about abusing players, what are we referring to.
Personally I think fans are entitled to shout things like 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' or 'you are rubbish' etc. as they are part and parcel of being a Rugby player.
I don't think it is acceptable when it becomes personal and non-RL related.
What was it yesterday?
