| Think HKR will have a few up before the judge after that game.

| I thought Harrison looked a bit gassed tonight, wouldn't be surprised if he had a week off and Green got a bench spot

| In the first 30 mins we threw a few iffy passes into touch to gift possession, gave away a couple of penalties and set restarts and could not stop them from offloading.
Once we realised that the offloading and cheap handover was killing us I thought we looked a lot more in control.
I am still a bit baffled by our style of play. We have one of the biggest packs in the league who create a fair bit of destruction and then we shift it to the edge when the opposition middle unit is in retreat.
Clark came on and jumped out of DH a couple of times after a forward had left players on the floor and they struggle to make a last ditch tackle on Clatk and the next play we shift it wide. I would be firing another forward straight at them and get William's and Dufty to get on the shoulder of the next forward.
It feels like sometimes we are too eager to shift the ball wide rather than hammer a team down the middle with the backs in support. I think we let the opposition defence of the hook sometimes when we should be hammering through the middle.
Dont get me wrong, I love to see the ball passed through Hands and see expansive rugby but I think we get the timing wrong sometimes and it looks a bit too predictable.

Why? Because beat Hull KR at home? I still have my doubts about Powell. We’ve only beaten Catalans this year who are any good. We failed to beat Wigan at home (who were battered by 12 men Leeds tonight) and the worst Saints side in years. We have the two worst centres in the league. Let’s see how we’re doing in September when it matters.

So which coach from the other teams would improve us, though? We certainly need to get better for the playoffs, but I think every coach needs to get their team better for the playoffs surely? No team has yet looked like runaway leaders, but I’d say we are the closest to that.
Let’s just enjoy the fact we’re better than we have been for the last ten years. Fingers crossed we will peak when it matters. As for the cup next week, it’s an unnecessary distraction, and I don’t care too much about losing in France. The end of 2019 when we won the cup that year felt like a huge disappointment.

| Hull KR who have beaten Wigan and St Helens? Hull KR who were on a six match winning run? Hull KR who would have gone top if they'd beaten us by 12 points?

Name me 3 actual quality centres playing in Super League.
(The point being that actual quality centres in the British game are very hard to find and us having 2 average centres isn't really the negative you might think...).

That Ian Watson would surely have been a better bet than Powell?...

Newman, Leutele, Lynne all improve us massively and that’s just three I can think of quickly.
Why just Super League? We can sign from the NRL too. For example Hiku, who is now going to HKR, would be a much better option than what we currently have.
When we decided to send King out on loan to our rivals (who’s a better centre than both btw) we should have had a replacement lined up.

| Anyone know what happened to Parcell? He seemed furious about something when he went off. Hope no-one’s going to be copping a ban. We’re getting pretty thin in the back row now

He seemed to gesture that he'd been caught with an elbow.

Talk about being selective in your examples! We are top of the league despite having real issues with absentees for a fair few matches. Saints beat us but obviously it was their cup final, Wigan played the conditions better than we did. Are we perfect? No. Are we unstoppable? No.
Are we a squillion times better than last season? Yes.
As for checking where we are in September last season we were checking where we were every month and it counted but not in a good way.
