| Quote: KineticRR "Kasiano will be the tallest and heaviest player in the squad. He has got to be the starting Prop for me, no question. I think we can then contrast that with a 'kid', so I'd take Mikaele to start also. He's the youngest player in the pack, in the middle for height and in the middle for weight, but given he's young, he would be fitter and would therefore take most of the carries, but Kasiano would provide more impact per carry. So we would have to look for a good balance there. Off the bench, Dudson is the 2nd heaviest player so for me, he should be coming on for Kasiano when he's put in his shift. Vaughan would be the next best option for height and weight (it would have been Bullock but he's not been good enough to start so it's the bench for you Joe). James Harrison would then be the option for Loose Forward. He's one of the tallest but he lacks the weight at the moment. Walker 4th man on the bench.
As for the rest of the squad, I think Thewlis is ready for the number 1 jersey. Get Dufty at Stand Off for some pace in the halves, keep Riley Dean on the books but loan him to a Championship club if we can and get him as much experience in a fast paced environment as possible. And when Dufty eventually goes after a year or 2 before signing for a bottom 8 NRL Team to revive his career, Dean steps in.
Holmes is not really anything to rave about but I can't see him being changed. Same with Mata'utia. Powell had a plan to change things and he wouldn't bring them here if he didn't think they could help to build something.
For players like Currie, King and Williams, it hasn't really been happening for them this season. I think Currie can be hot and cold, King has just not been as much of a stand out player and Williams just doesn't look comfortable. In Williams defence, when we were criticising our backs, Williams was one of those guys working hard, running at the line, trying to make things happen. We're in a new system and that will take time to work on. And given he was highly rated in the NRL, and was talked about being one of the best in Super League before he left, I have faith he'll turn things around. Same with King and Currie, they're certainly not done yet.

Dudson & Vaughan have starting prop all over them, Mikaele I'm not so sure about but my assumption was he would work well from the bench McGuire if he signs to play at 13. Kasiano is a bench prop all day long, even if Dudson, Vaughan, Mikaele, Philbin & Bullock were injured, I'd still be tempted to play him from the bench!

| I would agree that Kasiano is an impact prop coming off the bench. Dudson is a starting prop (and Powell has said as much), Mikaele had been starting up until this season. Harrison is another option at 13 but we're yet to see what he's capable of in Super League.

I admit I don’t see a lot of NRL rugby since end of lockdown, and from player YouTube special edits, many of Vaughan’s clips reveal him as being a bench prop. It may not matter in the British game, but it could indicate being off the bench benefits his game as a running prop.

I had a quick look at some teamsheets at St George of 2020 and 2021 pre incident and if he was playing, he seemed to be starting - but I don't get time to watch much NRL.

| I certainly wouldn't complain about Dudson starting. Although, for me I just want to see the biggest man we have starting and making an impact early and putting us on the front foot.
Currently watching Cowboys vs Dragons, with Josh McGuire. The Dragons have been shocking, but individually, McGuire has practically done nothing, and when his name has been mentioned, he's either missed a tackle to let the Cowboys through or he's made an insanely terrible pass.
I'll be keeping my eye on Vaughan on Monday morning. Dufty isn't even in the starting squad at the moment. Could be because he deserves to be dropped or the coach is looking to see what life is like without him next season.

Wonder if we could engineer a Widdop out, Dufty in situation earlier?

| McGuire is shot and i'd be very unhappy with his signing if true, I'd rather we pick up Rhys Kennedy over McGuire. Vaughn is good solid prop and i'd be happy with him
8. Gil Dudson
9.Daz Clark
10. Paul vaughn
With Kasiano, Bullock and Mikaele off the bench with Harrison fighting for a spot. Or Holmes to 11, Harrison to 12 and Currie at 13.

| So reading that if they come over Mulhern will be let go and Philbin will just get a squad number.

| I can almost hear the Sky pundits giving us the Grand Final in the preamble before the first kick off of 2023

I'd personally be okay with that. Whether it's possible now, I don't know.
What I wouldn't give to swap Mata'utia for Mamo right now!
