Get under those stairs and grab them fireworks!

Comparing with their opponents today, you would be hard pressed to pick many Cas players over the corresponding player. Evalds and Ratchford are equal, Trueman over Austin. McShane and Clark are both excellent. Aside from that I can’t see many others. So all things being equal, on paper, Warrington win comfortably. Therefore it must be performance related issues. Can’t see there being a gulf in strength or fitness, no real travel factor/home advantage, no argument over referee decisions. It must be purely performance.
Bare in mind, Cas even played without a scrum half for an hour and O’Neill only played 6 minutes. 15 men beat us convincingly

| Philbin might as well have IMPACT PLAYER tattooed on his forehead and what does Price do? Completely nullify him by making him start. Philbin was woeful and ineffective...but again that buck stops with Price. Jack Hughes was pitiful today and arguing with the ref whilst letting a player run past him was unforgivable...luckily Connor Wrench ignored his 'leader' and tracked back to make the tackle. If that's the captain we're in big trouble.

He hasn't even got the enthusiasm to trot out that favourite cliché after matches anymore. Clearly doesn't want to be here. I'd take Steve Anderson back if it got rid of this clown.

So it must come down to coaching then?

I'd take Clive Anderson or even Pamela Anderson, rather than our present incumbent.
They way we played today, Pamela's got two of them. We had 17.

As Roy Keane once said ‘when Keiran Gibbs is your captain you know you’ve got problems’. Same goes for Hughes. I don’t care if he’s a good talker on the field, he’s barely good enough to be playing for us let alone captain.

Did you not listen to the experts on sky? He's a 10/10 every week and a good talker as well as leading by example.

Potentially.
Coaching and/or culture I would say. Kevin Brown mentioned pre-game about there being concerns over the culture of the club. We’ve been here before, Tony Smith took the initiative and cut a problem, even if he was a superstar. If the coach had the backing of the board, and had the bottle, he would have ripped that problem out by now.
It’s either Price is the problem, or the higher leadership group is. If they undermine Price (by keeping players he doesn’t trust, signing players he doesn’t want, influencing a negative atmosphere in the club) he could be on a hiding to nothing.
While I have Fitzpatrick down to be a bit soft in the belly, and grossly inexperienced to stand up to Moran, Middleton etc. I don’t think he would bring such a negative vibe.
Therefore, yes, I think it’s the coaching. And this shouldn’t come as a surprise, he has had one head coaching role before and was utter garbage, resulting in a petition for his sacking. However the recruiters overlooked that. I just hope they get it right this time around. And soon.

| The Wire today were ambling about like Union players for the first 60 minutes with cross field passing being the best efforts at being adventurous. Where is our flair ? Cas had flair & determination in spadefulls & Liam Watts even managed a sidestep through our defence. The last 20 minutes was a bit too late to buck our ideas up & pretend we were a good team after all.
Let's hope ,if Powell does come ,he brings some of his players with him.

| Trueman would be fantastic, his last tackle plays asked questions of the defence and caused us a lot of problems.

| I watched some excellent games over the weekend on Sky, Price ensured that the Warrington game was not one of them. For all that is holy get him out this week.

| As previously stated you know there are problems somewhere at the club when you leave out one of the best hookers in the world + cert one of the fastest wingers in SL.He should at least come have the decency to explain this to us fans rather than let rumours spread as that is probably the most baffling team decisions I’ve known at this club since I’ve been a fan and that’s 45 years.

Trueman will be following Powell to the HJ. Thank god, cos he was MOM by a mile today, despite sky giving it to mcshane. Austin gone, and Trueman in. I'm looking forward to next season already and we're only 1 game into this one!!
