Where have I denied any of that or been sarcastic? Actually read what I post, I've praised Warrington a lot recently and get responses like I've spat on someones Grandma. Warrington played very, very well. Saints didn't. I'm not panicking about last night because of the lineup we had, but you are right that there was still enough on the field for us to win the game, if we'd approached it right. We had the wrong gameplan and executed it ridiculously badly. You got the tactics right and although far from perfect yourselves, did the basics far better and took the points when the chances presented themselves. Darryl Clark summed it up quite well at the end of the game I thought, not getting carried away as both sides were missing players.

| Very dominant performance from Wire, fair play - no complaints.
Very worried about what sort of a team we'll have out vs roosters
I see Tom Lineham has bought into the current Warrington PR approach judging by his post match interview, I'm sure that will nestle in some Saints players minds to draw upon later in the season.

I know fans get riled by this type of thing, I would hope professionals take it for what it is, they should be fully motivated without the need for this to get them going.

BBC radio interview. I don't mind it TBH he can say what he likes but I'm a believer in not giving the oppo ammo by actively p*ss taking
Lineham - Fantastic. We won it. What was the score again? [laughs] Oh, the score's gone off the board. Remind me. [laughs again]
Interviewer - 19-nil
Lineham (p*ss-taking voice) - Wow! Nilling St Helens. The 'formidable' St Helens [laughs]. No tries, no points. It's incredible.
Anyway, again - well done Wire, should be a cracking fight at the top of the table this season.

It's probably Saints fans you need to say this to not us.
If I was a Saints fan I wouldn't place much emphasis on this result, early season with both teams missing key players. The results that would have grated with me more as a Saints fan were Wembley last year and the semi final playoff in 2018, where Saints lost out on two trophies because of losing to Wire, which is something that would never have happened in the past.

I agree with this which is why I've not been happy with the club's official twitter account trolling Hull and Karl Fitzpatrick baiting Wigan in the media.
When it comes to players though I think its fair enough. The players will know each other socially and its fair enough for players who actually take to the field to have some banter and wind ups between themselves. Lineham might set himself up for a bit of comeback next time the sides meet but he's big enough to handle it.
Different when its club officials, who don't go on the field themselves but are trying to pump up 'controversy' for marketing purposes, using official channels.

Agree with that - we want to be seen as a serious profeessional sport we don't need to have nonsense like fake press conference cancellations.
I think Lineham just sounds a little silly talking about the "formidable St Helens" when we had six out - still, it's heat of the moment stuff and I'm sure his target audience enjoyed it

Because McCarthy-scarsbrook never winds the opposition up when Saints are winning.

Saints posters on this board should add that as their signature. Saves on typing repetition.

Losing to Warrington doesn't bother me. You've been a top side since Moran started splashing the cash and you are long overdue success. In the past we were vastly superior to Warrington in all areas, that hasn't been the case for getting on for ten years now, probably since Cunningham retired. But groups of results between the top sides often go like that. It has always been Saints > Bradford, largely Bradford > Leeds but Leeds > Saints. You struggle to beat Wigan, where we've had far more success. I don't expect us to win trophies either, I want us to but sport is sport, all the other teams are striving for the same thing and at times you lose. We've been here before with Warrington and it's not panned out as people claim it's destined to. Saints have lost one proper league game in 489 days according to Twitter last night. I'm not losing any sleep over that, nor would I if you were to dominate Super League this season like we did last, it's bound to happen eventually.
