| Quote: Widnes Al "I enjoyed the game. Big effort by both teams and a good game to watch. Too many errors by Wire. Plenty effort and honourable mentions to Tasi Davis and Ratchford. Was a shame you lost Walker early doors, he was looking lively
Difficult to read much into last nights game. Well done to Saints who were the better team and time for Warrington to stand back and regroup. Form a bit worrying for Wire but you're still in the mix for everything and come the big games no team will be relishing playing you.
PS See you all at Wembley...…...Out of interest will any of you be stopping for our game??'"
on the walker injury, did anyone else hear the almighty crack or smack/impact noise as he went down?
i genuinely hoped that wasn't his achilles or his knee ligaments we heard snapping.

Mid second half he was running up and down the touchline, from my view he looked keen to go back on.

| Unfortunately Burrell looked extremely like a deer caught in the headlights last night, he was scared to tackle, when he was infront of us in the first half everytime a saints player came near he stepped to the side to stick a hand out then wondered how they got passed and then went and joined as third man after winger and second row helped him out. Said all saints needed to do in that second half was keep attacking him

Burrell was blowing after 15 minutes. This is a guy who was playing top level union when we signed him. Clearly the fitness levels required in each sport is not up for debate now.

It's still an improvement on last week, can't you put your energies in to something positive? Just go and celebrate or something?

They are different sports with different types of fitness.
Many RU players were the same at first when they came over in the 70s and 80s - particularly the larger players. (And Tuigamala - who became arguably the best winger in the comp playing for Wigan. Awesome player. Read the Dean Bell biography and you'll get the picture).
He was blowing after 15 mins of his debut against the Broncos too.
I'm certain he'll get there. It's only his 2nd game.

Tbh I’m getting sick of him hanging around here like a bad fart. Can’t he go back to redvee, to the mutual backslapping and crowing that they’ve got one hand on the treble, with all the rest?
Pretty sure my opinions aren’t welcome on that board, dunno how it’s different here for him. Often feels like low level sheet stirring, chiming in on everything.

That's because redvee is a saints forum, so not many other fans sign up. Although some do.
This is a rlfans forum so fans from all clubs are free to roam.
If he has broke the aup report the offending post to the mods.

| Regarding Luther burrell I heard them say on sky that he's 31 (I thought he 26 / 27)so by the time he picks up the finer points of centre play let's say after next season he will be 32.it doesn't give us much time to reap any rewards from this signing... Very poor if you ask me..and how much as it cost us...

There's no need really as we are quite capable of keeping an eye on our board, including visitors most of whom are welcome

| Who was expecting a win against Saints? Not me. Who was hoping we got a performance that would give some encouragement for the rest of the season? I for one, did.
My expectations were met, thought our very depleted team with a pair of halfbacks on debut played with spirit, effort and gave 100%. Positives:
Riley Dean - had the confidence to step and beat a defender (please keep doing that!) and will learn lots from the experience. More game time for him, please Mr Price.
Stef Ratchford - MOM by a country mile, our most creative player. Great to see him back into the groove in a short space of time.
Harvey Livett - Rolled the sleeves up and got through a lot of carries. Pity nothing came off when he tried to off load. You have to make your own luck in this game at times, so keep trying, as I for one don't want 5 drives and a kick.
Lama Tasi - best game in P&B, more effective than Akauola.
Josh Thewlis - Solid game, held his own, great to see him on the score sheet.
There's still an opportunity to win the CC and GF , as far fetched as it may feel, presently.
Negatives:
Matty Smith - Just looked unfit, didn't cause Saints any problems.
BMM - Is his ankle goosed? Everytime he makes a carry, he spends too long clutching his ankle after it. Another one not fit.
Currie and Walker - Injured in the opening 20 minutes, which didn't help our cause on the night, and may not be fit for some games to come.
Westwood and Hill - Discipline.

Completely agree with 95% of this, i didn't expect a win at all and just watched the match to enjoy it and see new faces and to see some youngsters blooded. I really enjoyed the game.
Only thing i disagree with is Matty smith, i don't think he looks unfit and for a guy coming in to a brand new team on only 1 training session with us did more then Patton has done for us so far. Another game then a rest as he can't play in the challenge cup, then him and Austin will be far more effective than Austin/Patton.
