| Quote: ratticusfinch "Really?? Because I've read LOADS saying we were a disgrace on the pitch - equal to Catalans, plenty saying Child got most things right and had a decent game and only ONE Warrington fan directly correlating the violence in the stands with Child's performance.
Not expecting any apologies (why would they?) but the behaviour of opposition fans on here this week has been a disgrace - yet to see ONE reasoned assessment of events. I think the results of the investigation into crowd violence will be rather interesting as well.'"
So you agree that 90% of people said Childs had a good game and that 90% of fans said Wire were THE naughty team?
Or do you agree that is utter balls?

| I'd say around the 90% mark of Non-Wire fans YES. I've hardly seen much condemnation of Catalans play at all. Spear tackles, knees to the head, pre-meditated high tackles and encouraging crowd violence took second play to Chris Hill gobbing off a bit.

| It is possible Child has just been taken out of the firing line because people keep blaming him for adults behaving like idiots. He should never have had to deal with half the things he had to deal with last week. He deserves a quieter week to be honest. The RL disciplinary page is full of "penalty sufficient" for shoulder charges, high shots, and bad tackles for both teams. Catalan may well have instigated it as williame is facing a ban for a spear tackle in the 7th minute, but Chris Hill was pinged for late contact in the 14th minute, and punching in the 15th minute, so they werent angels a for 79 minutes and dragged into a fight by catalans on the 80th minute.
For what its worth, thinking back on the game, catalans were worse disciplined than warrington, but warringtons discipline was rather poor too.

You're missing the point, both sides had poor discipline, however only 1 side got penalised for it during th3 majority of the game, hence why it boiled over

It's been the same on social media as well. The immediate out-pouring of faux-outrage from opposition fans and 'some' journalists was embarrassing, yet all too predictable. They literally couldn't wait to label us as 'hooligans' with the 'well, what do you expect from them. They're all scum' taglines. Or the 'there at it again' sensationalist comments. It must be great supporting teams that have never had the issue of social disorder amongst fans.
There are two sides in every argument, and the causes of the problems were not just down to a small minority of drunken yobs trying to get in to the hospitality area. There was plenty of provocation from the Catalan fans, and we weren't the first team to visit there that were subjected to it. A letter published by a Castleford fan in the League Express this week is evidence.
Every club in every sport has it's idiots, not just Warrington. And anyone currently sat up on the splendid moral high ground are going to look a bit silly if, and when fans from there own clubs step out of line.

I just think the players (on both sides) have to accept some responsibility for that outcome, and i wish the coaches had said something similar instead of blaming each other and the referee. Just one player or coach to say "we shouldnt have behaved like that".

Blablabla
Completely bull,
Warrington players are unblemished
Warrigton fans are sage in the stand without insult Sam Tomkins for example, without throw watter bottle on the catalans players
Very good resume

Also, 90 percent of opposition fans said james child had a good game and it was the players at fault, and now he's been demoted.
I think theres a lot of ppl from the weekend that owe us a lot of apologies'"
Don’t forget some of the press too..Rod Stud & Martyn Sadler on Twitter both praised Childs’ management of the game and was not at fault for what went on during the game.

"This week, the only real thing that has come out of that game is that the referee from the match was dropped."
Nope, there was 12 disciplinary citations and they are investigating what happened in the stands.
"He's now going to referee a game in the division below, which I think is disgraceful."
Taking away what happened in the stand, he had a really bad game. Pathetic to deem that 'disgraceful'.
"Both clubs really should be investigated."
They are, you idiot.

| It’s no surprise really that Phil Clarke would have an opinion different to most others.

| Unfortunately, the perceived carnival atmosphere that goes along with this fixture for all visiting teams gives all visiting supporters the encouragement to have fun in the sun with a few pints & can easily get in the way of level headed behaviour in the stands. Perhaps the Catalans club management should think of improving security between their vip area & that stand. Probably armoured glass frontages to prevent contact either way between opposing fans.
