| Quote: Rocky Bobby "Amused by Danny McGuire's histrionics about foul play, waving his elbow at anyone who would look at it. Perhaps thats what he was doing in the second half when he gave a tackled Goodwin a facial on the floor with his forearm...'"
Was McGuire actually gesturing that though? The way I saw it was that McGuire was gesturing to his team mates to pull into position so he could take advantage of Warrington’s defence being in disarray.
Once he realises the ball has been lost he seems to protest for a steal, which is standard player response when their own team loses possession.

| I was watching from the North Stand, almost in line but obviously some yards back and without the benefit of replay. My first reaction was that the tackle was not complete but there was a suspicion that Austin's forearm hay have ended up above the shoulder. Had Tompkins not stayed down / lost the ball it would have been play on as it wasn't clear.
The replay from the South Stand, from my point of view, confirms that the tackle was incomplete but you cannot see any contact. Clearly the player was concussed so he has presumably received a blow to the head either from direct contact with Austin or with the ground. The RL are rightly keen to protect players from head injury so chances are that Austin will be sitting out the next few.

| It'll also be interesting to see how the disciplinary panel view the head high tackle on Cooper as he goes over for his try.

And somebody having a go at Charnley's knee in front of the south stand.

All joking aside, I watched the video, the more I watched it, the less I thought there was in it, his knees come down at his hips/midriff. His left arm goes over the body, the only thing you cant see is the right hand, but you would expect him to swing his arm or raise his elbow in order to connect so hard that it fractures a skull.
In fact I then started watching it again in case I'd missed ratch do something. But no.

| Tomkins is out of hospital, it was concussion and he could be okay next week as its outside the concussion window! Much a do about nothing from everything I have seen. This was just unfortunate, I think it was the ground personally but again there may be replays that bring new evidence to light that we haven't seen.
I'm glad tomkins is OK, he may have grub tendencies but he's been a good player over the years. I can't see any reason for there to be a ban for this incident after a sin binning, in fact the sin bin looks harsh from what I've seen.

| That photograph would appear rule out knees, elbows to head and whether the tackle was complete. EXHIBIT1 for the defence I think.

Tomkins was out of hospital on Saturday night he just opted to stay in Wigan Saturday night rather than go back to Hull.
he'll be fit for the weekends game which makes me rather alarmed at Tim Sheens inflammatory comments like "hes in a bad way" and "we are concerned for him"...!!!
Tomkins walked off the pitch what at worst could be descirbed "a little gingerly"... he was in now way wobbly legged like some of the States Kevin Brown's been in ..... I thought Sheens was a disgrace and a stirrer, and I hope he kops some of his own medicine from More Vocal Coaches than Steve Price in the coming season.
I dont mind KR as a team but Sheens is everything a whinging Aussie should be, as welcome as a turd in a jaqcuzzi

| A predecessor of his comes to mind,Justin Morgan ,a whingeing Aussie who presided over one game where at least 3 of our players had their hands trodden on.

| First of all it's good to hear Tomkins seems to have no ill effects from whatever happened on Saturday. But I am quite appalled at the odd comment in this thread along the lines of "it's ok as it's Tomkins who copped one" and before any one picks me up on this it isn't a quote just a summarization of an earlier poster.
I'd love the reaction on here if (say) super Benny Westwood had been in the position Tomkins was. But oops I forgot super Benny is banned again! Don't throw stones.....

Unfortunately Amazon's knock off of top gear. Weve had to put up with the tomkins brothers house tricks for the past ten years or so, committing on pitch crimes and generally gettinf away with it, so theres very little sympathy or empathy for them on here, you'll probably experience this with saints fans as well later in the year.
Heres another example of him not being bothered about other players welfare on the pitch
