Agree that we closed saints down with our spot on defence. Whether Barba is/isn't as sharp as he was earlier on in the season matters not. He didn't create anything, and he wasn't allowed to.
As for defending, he looked like he didn't want to know. That's not taking anything away from Lineham who showed great determination and belief that he was getting that ball over the line on both occasions.

I have been miffed on a few occasions this season with the obsession with wingers diving as high as they can to avoid the defender while putting the ball down an inch from the dead ball line. This avoids getting knees in the back which was always the risk of the traditional slide over the try line. Minkin had 2 tries chalked off in one game when he was bundled into touch following a spectacular dive. The one exception to this has been Charnley who is almost unstoppable when he slides in from 5 yards. It looks like Lineham has learned from him.

It's a good point and I thought something similar. Lineham was doing the fancy dives 18 months or two years ago with mixed effect. And why would it succeed? He is a heavily-built winger. What he has learned is that if he gets nice and low early, his physique is going to get him over the line and it is going to take a hell of a defensive effort to get under him or knock him off course.

Good to see a player learning how to use their own attributes; not just following the trend. Hicks was the best finisher I have seen in a Wire shirt because he knew exactly how to use his strengths and mitigate his weaknesses.

Maybe he took note of Atkins’ attempt at a high flying try from last season?

Literally the bounce of the ball. Saints have been found out massively now people have realised Danny Richardson isn't very good and that Barba has given up since deciding to go home.

Ryan Hampshire
Richie Myler
Josh Drinkwater
Jake Trueman

All far far better than Richardson statistically (tries/assists) he is a bang average player and basically Jamie Foster at scrum half.

I’m genuinely excited about Trueman and he isn’t even our player. He looks the absolute business and is only 19!

Seems like a really down to Earth lad when he’s been interviewed n’all.

Richardson is getting [ithrown under the bus[/i on a couple of threads on red vee, today.
How quickly they change their minds
At Easter, he was their Messiah
Now, he's a very naughty boy

Not watched the whole game back yet so i am not too sure is the coverage covered it but straight after Linehams second try as Lineham headed towards the crowd to celebrate Goodwin made a point of heading back towards Richardson and others to tell them politely to stick that in their pipe and smoke it.
Quality bit a bagging to stick the knife in after their antics following the wonder goal in the league game.
It is a dish best served cold.

Warringtons defence was absolutely outstanding.

A few unsung heroes, as I thought Goodwins unselfish performance summed up what a quality player he is. As a Leigh fan, absolutely gutted on what has happened in the past 12 months but credit where it is due, he deserves to play for a Quality SL side and he would have been too good for us whether we survived or not.
There will be a few today wishing him well when he takes the kids to School in Appleton Thorn next week thats for sure.

Fair play and good luck next week

I'm just watching the highlights on yoochoob, it looks like richardson put a sly hit on goodwin and knocked him over well after the pass had gone.

Ha ha. Remember LMS laughing in the Wire players faces after the last game at their stadium when they won that game 14-12.

LMS is absolute cack. All he does is run around like a brain damaged Gorilla. he over celebrates everything to try and get into the oppositions head but just looks like a fill on t*t head. wooping, high fiving a knock on, @rse slapping a tackle, back slapping a pass, that thing where he squats and clenches his fists like hes constipated.... yet all he offers to the team is a lot of puffing out the cheeks on a relitivly easy carry and flopping round like a salmon on the deck trying to cheat a penalty.

One of the most annoying and over rated players in SL.
