Quote: Dita's Slot Meter "15 quid to look at the back of somebody's head, or sat at home watching it on the telly??.... Its a no brainer.

Like I say, I hate to be negative, but it will be a PR disaster - Also, after Hillsborough, I didn't think the potential for some serious crowding issues would ever be entertained ever again?

I appreciate the FA wanting to keep clubs playing in their own grounds, but this isn't a quaint village side with a single small ground, its a large town side, who have a 15,000 capacity stadium sat empty a mile up the road.'"

This.

I went to get tickets at 3:30 this afternoon, the earliest I could get there, and the "SOLD OUT" signs were up. I was hoping to get 3 tickets.

I was not the only one who turned up only to be disappointed and having to turn straight round to go home.

I went to the North Ferriby match and, albeit I'm a Watford fan, would have loved to support the local team against Exeter.

Disappointed!

I find it very interesting that people are excited by the prospect of this club potentially playing a top flight side.

In rugby league, if Hemel reached the fifth round of the Cup and lost 84-6 to Warrington it would be deemed as an embarrassment to the sport and destroying the competition.

What's the difference?

You wouldn't get an equivalent score in football. Also, you do occasionally get upsets. I was reading last week that Altrincham have beaten league opposition around 16 times in the FA Cup. I know they are higher than Warrington but it just goes to show.

FC United did it a couple of years ago, beating Rochdale away before drawing away at Brighton.

The difference is that Rugby League fans like a good moan and a whinge about anything.

An 84-6 scoreline in Rugby League, I'd consider to be a thrashing. What do you consider to be a thrashing in football? Is Southampton 8-0 Sunderland not high enough?

I agree it's hard to compare the two scorelines, given that they are completely different sports with very few, if any, similarities. But even with the most basic knowledge of either sport, you'd know if one side was beaten heavily by another team.

I care because I'm a Wire and I support whoever represents Warrington. They represent my town and me.

I'd say 84 - 6 was a lot more of a thrashing than 8-0. I'd also think that if Warrington played Hemel, it would be more than 84.

The original point was that a heavy defeat would be embarrassing for the sport and would destroy the competition, so why are people excited.

My point is there is a chance of an upset there, even though personally I think Warrington will get beat.

I never called you a pie my friend.
That would be a horrid insult.
I wouldn't fear a FA overshadowment from Town over SL in our lifetime.
I would ask the question isnt SL already second fiddle to FA with a combination of Utd City Liv Eve and others?

I don't believe rugby would lose support to football, none that's worth worrying about anyway, perhaps if town became professional then they may take fans away from the main 4 football rivals in this area though.
They would certainly take my support over them, and 2 of them are avidly supported in my household.

If Town became professional, or put it this way, if Town got so far as drawing one of the 2 above we follow, I will be supporting Town without malice.

I'm a Wire fan in RL but I'm a Man Utd fan in football, I'll be honest I don't care if Warrington Town win or not.

Wigan losing at home in the cup for the first time in my lifetime this year? Leigh narrowly losing away at cup holders Leeds? Batley narrowly losing to Huddersfield the year before? Fev and Barrow both knocking Cas out in recent years? Tolouse reaching the semi final? Catalans reaching the final? Just off the top of my head.

Bob, I was more referring to if Warrington advance and reach top flight opposition.
