| Jon Wells has been working alongside Phil Clarke too long then.
Poor kicks and handling in addition to the all round physical attributes of 2/3 of the team I would say.
We could still be playing now and still not have scored.
I don't buy it.

| Quote: FlexWheeler "Did anyone see Jon well anaylsis after?
He pointed out 2/3 situations where there'd have been a simple try on for warrington if they'd picked the right pass or russell has moved into the right position.
A little more cohesion and link between playmakers and warrington could have won the agme despite playing poorly.
Nothing that can't be easily fixed.
Warrington will be fine come september/oct.'"
But if you also saw Wanes pre match interview he alluded to that exact point about Russell whilst he was at Wigan.

| It's time for TS to make his mind up now about what's happening with the half-backs. So far there's been lots of chopping and changing in an apparent attempt to shoehorn all of them into the side, but with Russell now looking certain to start at full-back, it's time to either pick two from three of Ratchford, Myler and O'Brien and stick with it, or possibly to put Ratchford at centre and drop either Bridge or Atkins, which seems the least likely option.
Sadly, I don't think any option will suddenly transform our fortunes as far as this season goes, but stability and consistency of selection would at least help. I always regarded this as likely to be a transitional season, but it's starting to look more like a treading water season really, with a desperate need for players who can add creativity and organisation.
We must, surely, be well under the salary cap, taking into account those who left and those we have signed since the end of last season, but it's hard to see anyone of sufficient quality moving mid-season, even if we wanted to go down that route.

| If we'd played a cloned team of ourselves we'd have both lost last night.

| Early days, he's caught by trying to pick players to get them to gel (Asotosi HB combinations), play them into form (Atkins Bridge Myler)whilst managing a few injuries (Wood Harrison Russell) and trying a few younger lads out (Ormsby Riley Evans Laithwaite)
Sorry we've not seen more of Rhys Evans and Dwyer to be honest but I think that there is a real search by TS for our best 17 until we find that and a way to play it's going to be tough.
Last night wasn't the worst I've seen by a long way Wigan probably deserved their win but a bit more composure we could've nicked it and this board would have been a different place.
Also a bit strange seeing our right hand side getting attacked constantly

| Mike Monaghan is captain and Higham is our best hooker so Dwyer is going to find it tough getting in the side.
GOB had his first ordinary game which is the excuse Tony Smith has been looking for to drop him, Myler is untouchable it would seem.
Asotasi is just a run of the mill prop, severely underwhelming and I guess won't be dropped, Captain material they said, a leader at Souths? Really? He's quiet, he drives in half ars*d in fact sometimes will pointlessly pass so not to have to take it in. Inspire? He's the Chesterfield of spires.
Riley must have body dismorphia syndrome, he looks in the mirror and sees an 8 stone weakling, run it in lad you're an absolute beast and don't skip leg day at the gym, in fact double up on leg day.

I can see it's going to be tough, but, why haven't we seen more of Dwyer to make our minds up?
I accept that it is Tony Smith's mind, not ours that needs to be made up, but, it appears that its already a done deal on the hooking places, which is a bit of a shame IMO
Not quite sure this captaincy thing is working either

| Lots of frustration on here - and I can easily understand that.
We were well beaten and didn't really look like breaking the Wigan line all night. Wigan were well worth their 10 point margin and to be honest I didn't expect anything else.
I thought Westwood and Waterhouse were immense last night. You couldn't fault either for commitment and desire.
Russell showed promise and Ormsby did OK.
Monas and Higham had reasonable games - Monas particularly injecting some 'attacking' defence.
But I also have to credit Wigan (through gritted teeth) for their defence which snuffed us out completely.
I was also mightily impressed with their attack and in particular their 'blitzkreig' like moves have 4-5 players close together in 2 lines attacking our flank. Most impressive against our right. I've not seen that before, and once they'd broken the line there is no way Joel would catch his opposite number. He's got a lot of attributes but simply isn't fast - come back Spider......
TS has a lot of work to do and it's clear he's not sure of the way to play the halves. For what it's worth I don't think you can easily interchange halves. They're too pivotal.
But look at other 'winning' teams in the past and they've developed through the year. Let's hope....

Building every season? You didn't recruit at all last season. This season you signed Asotasi, Russell and brought Penny back. Time was, Wire would bid for every decent player they could lay their hands on!
