I'm always on the fence with this one. I mean, I for one was absolutely livid with the team. There is absolutely no room for complacency in playoff Rugby and we lay down like a cheap hooker for Huddersfield in that first half. It was fairly pathetic considering the examples we have set for ourselves this year, especially in defending the CC. As for the boo's, I've never brought myself to do it, and am happy for others to verbally vent my own anger for me. Who knows, it may have spurred us on to what was so nearly an incredible comeback.
As for those who want to preach over 'real fans' and 'gloryhunters' etc etc, one thing we all need to realise is even though the backbone of Wire support were there during those often barren spells at Wilderspool, you can't wish our newer supporters away either. They help raise the profile of the club. Just look at one half of Wembley stadium when we won the cup for christ sake!
I hardly think Morley, Westwood or any other player for that matter shed any tears over any boo's during the half time break either!
Players have emotions, I am sure most of them when they hear boo's think along the lines of 'I'll show them'
No one likes to think that anyone thinks badly of them, this year has all been about improving week by week and I suspect they will have been a little upset by the first half performance.
What I did notice is that Tony Smith didn't rant and rave, no idea really what was said but I suspect he re-affairtmed the game plan and talked about working as a unit and as he has said in this weeks video he was really pleased with the response in the 2nd half.
Psychology really plays a big part in the game, maybe we got it rong before this one it certainly appears that we wheren't where we needed to be.
