He trained 2 donkeys to win the derby, Kris Kin was one of the worse derby winners in history and the race North Light won was a shocker, 3 of the horses that North Light beat ended up over the jumps. Both Kris Kin and North Light never won another race after Epsom.

This was a passable argument in 2002 when a lot of the players were NL standard, but out of the current team who's not up to Super League?
Morley, Gleeson, Higham, Carvell, Westwood, King, Rauhihi and the Andersons are all Test players. Monaghan and Hicks were top players in the NRL. Briers and Paul Wood have been successful SL players for a long time. Riley, Bridge, Harrison and Blythe are all players who are rated as bright young talents and have representative honours at some level.
So who is it that's not up to Super League....surely if its the players fault and not the coach it should be easy to identify the individuals who don't have the basic skills to handle the profession.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| I think most people don't realise how the smallest of details make the biggest differences.
It is my belief that a game is won on the training field, how you prepare for a game determines it's outcome. Once you cross the whitewash the weeks preperation needs to be executed to the letter as per the coach's instruction. It's great to have a group of players who have loads of ability, but it is how they are trained to manage adversity, when the game plan isn't working how do you implement plan b etc., that is when your coach earns his stripes.

| I've only just been able to watch the interview, wowser. I haven't felt that uncomfortable in a long time. I had to switch off when he piped up for Anderson, how embarrassing.

Darlings of Super League: |

| Of course, the problems at Warrington run much deeper than Lowes, and it'll take a top-class coach and disciplinarian to rebuild the club if we are ever to mount a serious challenge for silverware.
But Lowes is a complete imbecile. I don't like to get into the histrionics favoured by other posters but I simply can't see any positives in the guy.
The sooner we're rid of him, the better.
Every flaw that Cullen had - too matey with the players, short-term fixes to deep-rooted problems - are even more in evidence with Lowes, and all of Cullen's qualities are sadly lacking.

Come on there are more improtant things than that, how he dresses or handles interviews has nothing to do with how he coaches. '"
Its actually more important that you'd imagine. When was the last time you saw someone like Tony Smith or Daniel Anderson in trackkies and a t shirt with his feet up on a desk whilst coaching? Its about sending the right signal to the team and being their bessie mate jimmy one minute then coach lowes the next wont work. They wont take it seriously. Just look at the way he criticised them last year and then apologised. Come On!!! Ridiculous.

| Didn't Lowes say he can't drop people after just 2 games? Hello clever dick, you dropped your most dangerous attacking weapon after one.

| I wouldn't say Penny is our most dangerous player, but I know what you're getting at. Seems to be contradicting himself.

Which player in our team would you like to have the ball in space?

That's obviously different, but rugby league isn't just about pace. For me, Gleeson is our most dangerous player, he has great footwork, he can pass and offload, he's strong and he regularly beats his man. Penny is probably the most dangerous player in the league when there's space for him to run into, but Gleeson has more overall, in my opinion.

Would say the same myself.
