Quote: MorePlaymakersNeeded "Super, thanks for informing. How did that guy who played for you last year get on in this match, his name was Ben Bannedman or something like that?'"

To be fair he got Man Of Steel. I believe the voting panel consisted of the same judges who voted Kerry Katona ‘Mum of the Year’... icon_wink.gif

Also to be fair to Barba again, he didn’t play below par in any final last year. He might have been a bit iffy in a couple of semi’s. I’d have to ask Tom Lineham, Jack Hughes and Tony Gigot about that though.

man of the match.... icon_surprised.gifops:

the first two tries: one he simply shipped the ball on to Lattrell Mitchell, the best player in the world, who made a catch and pass look easy.

The second he couldn't even find a player with his pass. But just like many times last year he passed it in roughly the right direction it bounced on the floor and the winger managed a clean pick up to score.

Then he tried a drop goal in front of the sticks when they were about 16 points up and, Christ knows where it ended up but it missed...

hes still Bobbins but he's a bit warmer.....

Good luck to him, it didn't work out, we have moved on and it looks very much an upgrade so far.

Maybe a year at Warrington playing and training alongside the best has taken his game to new levels which will help his career back home. Even though he didn't make it here he should still look positively at his experience of coming over and testing himself alongside the elite.

Quote: 49er "Just when I thought Saddened had come on to apologise for his ‘impartial’ comments about the Austin tackle. Quote

Sorry for upsetting you with that. I posted that after seeing a shot of it obviously taken on a mobile phone. Looked all the world like he'd just swung the right forearm into the back of his head. I said on twitter when I saw the HD footage from Sky that there was nothing in it.

On Roberts, I was very surprised to see his performance today. Looked a yard quicker and just made space brilliantly, terrorised the right edge for the Moari's. If he'd been anywhere near that level for you, last season might have ended differently. I was looking forward to it being a bit of a train wreck, but far from it. Interesting to see him interviewed this week, quoted as saying the on field things were great in England, but the fact it was too cold to go outside made it unbearable. icon_lol.gif That in the hottest summer in history in England.

Saddened, I think, many times you make some good points. But whenever you post on here, which is sp but timely- it coincides with your perceptive fear of Warrington doing well. When saints were sailing on the crest of a Holbrook/Barba wave, I don't really recall you posting on here- and fair play; it should be the other way around.-you should have been rubbing our noses in. You posting on here again gives me hope of success.

Perhaps it is? Good spot if accurate, not something I've noticed. I've not posted on here a lot over the last few years as the Saints board packed up and moved elsewhere. I tend to just post reactionary rubbish swearing at referees and trying to get Marco Silva sacked on Twitter.

For all the criticism of him, he certainly seems to have improved his game over here.'"

Missed the game. Has Barba learned to tackle yet? Oh wait...

So why did you not come on and say you were wrong, made your decision from viewing a mobile image. icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

I'm romantic enough (or is it naive enough) to believe that for.most sportsmen, appearing in major events, playing key roles in big games and enjoying the adulation and glory is still a huge reason why they do it.

I think in 10 years time Tyrone may look back on last year as an opportunity spurned. He isn't going to end his career with a wardrobe full of Test caps, SoO jerseys and a bedside cabinet overflowing with Aussie GF winners medals. Last year was his shot at glory and he blew it for good.

Wouldn't he have preferred to look back and say "well it didn't work out, and god it was cold, but boy I showed Catalans how to play in the Challenge Cup and I got the photos with the boys and the Lance Todd to prove it".

Far more skilled, far higher paid sportsmen look back on their career honours above anything else and strangely, the weather never seems to crop up in conversation.

Exactly. He was and is better than how he performed for us. Even up until the gf there was a hope he would make an effort and we would win!! He never did.
