Don't get me wrong as i thought Chris Hicks was terrific, but JC is twice the player.

Not yet. The marker is down. 3 tries or more are required at Wembley first.

I am basing my opinion on Speed, Strength, defence and all round ability. Are you basing yours on a Challenge Cup final, where he played outside a former Kangaroo and SOO player and a Lee Briers kicking masterclass? I must admit the try where he went through and under 4 defenders was pretty special!!

There's Charnley's 2nd marker then.

Im not sure Charnley is twice the player Hicks was. Hicks was a fine all rounder. He was a better defender than JC. I would argue he was quicker. And he tormented Ryan Hall both in the air and on the ground at Wembley that day when Hall was spoken as being the best winger in the world at the time.

But JC is top player without a doubt. ....

I think we can all agree he is a better option than Russell.

Why, how many metres has he made from dummy half?

I think he's the best finisher since Hicks in terms of ability, although Joel Monaghan was a consistent try scorer over several seasons so Charnley has a fair bit to do to top that. But I think in terms of ability he is a better player than JM, with Hicks I'd take arguments either way for who was better, I'm not bothered as they are both terrific players who played for us.

My comment on Charnley being twice the player is probably an over exaggeration. Of all Chris Hicks's fine qualities I never saw being quick as one of them. I remember him having a long loping stride that took him over the ground quickly, but not pace to burn. My memory has somewhat faded it seems over the last 6 years.

Good grief, have you ever thought of working for Trump's administration?

Completely agree. I think JM was superb at scoring from the cross field kick, he made it an art form. However for natural pace and evasiveness I think Charnley is far superior. But you are right he has big shoes to fill.

I don't know what Smith was thinking when he fielded the likes of Russell, Rhys Evans, Ormsby et al and expected us to be competitive.

Nice one RD.

If i had to classify you as working for a political Organisation it would be the Hilary Clinton mob. Looking after the downtrodden and afflicted ( Matty Russel) is your calling but overall you are still just a general ar*e!!! icon_biggrin.gif
