| Quote: Ganson's Optician "Exactly. All year there has been moaning about evening games being televised and thus attendances suffering.
If the competition continues as it is I have no doubt that next time round the BBC or another terrestrial station will enter an improved bid.'"
BBC have already got rights to the 2017 tournament. Not sure if it's full rights or if it will be with Premier Sports again.

| Its all been good so far and well done to all involved.
Unfortunately we have now been put in our place due to a meaningless RU game v Australia. The papers have been full of rubbish about it all week, my daily paper "I" has 3 full pages about it today and just a small column about James Graham. Even North West news have been reporting about Sale v Exeter and no mention of RL at all. The BBC will of course be salivating over it like the establishment lap dogs they are. So lets not get too optimistic about the effect of the RLWC just yet.

Surely one reason for this is that RL itself has badly neglected the international game over recent years. There has been very little promotion of games in the past 15 years. Then all of a sudden a World Cup comes up, people get their fingers out and start promoting the game and what happens? There is a sudden realisation that RL is entertaining and can draw crowds after all.
This has to be the start for our game. Good promotion and marketing can draw in the crowds and there isn't a lot wrong with the product.

| Les Frogs are looking a bit rusty.
They need to score next (kiwi's just had a try turned down).
Great to see another good attendance

The only way to get PROPER recognition for our game, from the Londoncentric media , is for us to actually win the thing.
Too many times in the last 20odd years, we've gone into the last Test of a 3 match series, with the series in the balance (and a WC Final/Tri/Four Nations final) only for us to
a) Come up short
b) go to sleep for 15 minutes
c) get blown out of the water
d) bottle it
As much as we like to "slag off" the RFL for their inertia in promoting our game, the players are still culpable for their performances/lack of success. The public will quickly tire of a team who have little success. That's why our national team(s) attendances have declined again over the past 20 years.
We win this tournament, and we get the biggest springboard this sport has seen in decades. It'll make the dawn of SL (and nicer stadiums to bring your family to) seem like small potatoes.

| France could've stayed there all night, and still not scored.
Lots of "huffandpuff" but no end result.
Kiwis looked good.
We're set up for some good end of tournament games.
Nice to see the French staying to the end, despite a walloping on the.
If that was a certain team losing by a third of that score, they'd have been back in Bryn by the time their pies were put in the oven.

If by threw, you mean had players playing with, broken ribs, cheekbones, Ankles, shoulders, plus two off with concussion and 2 broken ankles, yep threw it right away

I meant by arrogantly not taking the 2 points on offer just before all the above happened.
The Wigan fans stayed.
The Wire fans walked, unlike the French who took a thrashing off a quality Kiwi side.
England v New Zealand in the semis will be the game of the tournament.

| I have to agree that the organisation has been superb as well as generating interest. Maybe this has something to do with RLWC2013 organising it and not the RFL.
As mentioned in previous posts, the commentary (Voss, Woods, Noble and Co) has been 10 times better than Sky. I'd be happy for Premier sports to have all of the SL games, it would also save a fortune on not having to subsidise the premier league

An excellent example of not letting the truth get in the way of a heap of cr@p.
Mind you, England v NZ could well be a cracker.

Might be worth you telling us. You obviously have inside info as to when the injuries occurred.

No inside info. Just watched it over and over again. I doubt you have brought yourself to do that once yet.

| It thought it was an ugly performance by the Kiwis who without their top players are several levels below the team that played Samoa.
Disjointed attack from the Kiwis meets pretty good defense by the French.
They forced NZ to kick for their Try's early in the game. The french gave the kiwi's enough ball to win five games.
As for England V NZ , I have England slight favorites , not based on what's been played out to date , I just recon England play their best Rugby league against NZ and expect the to continue.
Excellent prep for the World cup final , much better than what has been an averagely good ( by Aussie standard ) Kangaroo campaign.
Luke Lewis is a horror loss for the Aussies , if I were to pick a forward apart from Smith to not have to face it's Lewis's running game.
