No im from warrington, moved here for university.

I'm afraid I left Blackpool at the end of August (I'm not that afraid actually but there you go), so glad the flag is still flying on the Fylde.

You'll find Blackpool is a good place to be a RL fan, you can watch the rugby in a number of town centre pubs (The Hop was always my favourite) and there are a lot of RL fans in the town. Sadly, Wigan fans make up the majority (Blackpool is where 'posh' Wiganers end up) but you'll meet more than your share of Saints and Wire supporters.

The legendary Steve Hesford can regularly be spotted in the pubs around Bispham and is a really nice guy if you spot him. You'll get double kudos if you tell him his points record is more impressive than Briers' because there were no 80-point victories in his day (and he's got a point).

Enjoy your stay in the town, it's actually far better than people give it credit for.

I lived in Thornton mid to late 80's. Used to see Steve Hesford regularly in the Golden Eagle.Think the landlord of the GE at that time was from Warrington too.

Yeah the landlord of the GE was from warrington, infact he is my wifes cousin. My wife and i both live in blackpool...wifes warrantonian she got me into the game and her mum, brother also live here. So aswell as us i have 4 or 5 m8s at work who we have brought on board and my lad aswell.

We usually try go every year no matter who gets there but not to sure if we gonna b able this year as funds are a tad tight...but hopefully. Sods law it bein a year that we get there we wont be able2 but think we will find a way somehow. What about you..u goin? i have the same problem money is tight with a new baby on the way cant get 2 the semi as my parents r comeing up from warrington 4 my lads bday will have to watch on comp as i dont have sky not the best but better than newt or radio commentry hope u have a gd night i am looking forwad to tonights game COME ON THE DRAGONS
