First game I look for when the fixtures come out is Saints home and away to say we owe them one is an understatement but got to deal with Bradford before we can start thinking about them.

Finding out that we were playing without both halfbacks made me a bit worried about yesterdays game. In previous years a game like Crusaders would usually be a potential Banana Skin for the Wire. I need not have worried. There is a new attitude within the team, there appears to be cover in every position, and we've even shown that we can win without Briers.
Last season we were too reliant on Carvell and Morley. This year we've got a very fit and impressive Paul Wood and if Solo stays fit (he played 55 mins yesterday) he will be a tremendous attacking weapon. We haven't even needed to use Mike Cooper yet.

I know what you are saying but Saints should just be viewed as another game. Another game that we should aim to win, like all of our games.

That's kind of my point.

People are worried about 'hangovers' if we lose, and all that. The 'another game' comment, that's how I think Smith views it. As long as we perform, execute what we practiced and stick to the gameplan, win or lose I don't think he'll be too fussed, his immediate thoughts would turn to putting right whatever went wrong, and getting the performance right against Wakefield. (...then Salford, then Hull ...)

Looking at the game this weekend, it is almost 1 year to the day since we were embarrassed against Harlequins at The Stoop.
