| With McMeeken, unless he's dead set on second row, and IF we have signed him, he could transition to prop VERY easily in my oppinion. he's 6'5 and 16st already and 26 years old so he can still fill out. Might be a long shot but he has the size and strength for it? I would like an out and out prop though not another second rower/prop. Maybe inglis could sway a few heads our way for the prop position

| Quote: Saintflyer13 "Totally agree with Robson and Doro needed to be tested . Robson is a bigger, quicker ready made replacement for Davis . Doro is that aggressive type prop like Matty lees from saints who can come on in a game and really put himself about. Both have been at the club since being 15 which I think is also a bonus for the academy/player pathway'"
Shirley Matty Lees is no prop. He’s only stepped up from 3/4 to backrow as he received that terrible injury.

| Quote: morleys_deckchair "ref Currie, i had an email from a friend, who said
Warrington have offered Currie a new contract on reduced wages, which he isnt happy with. There has been contact with Wigan and Saints. Saints have already offered a contract with more on the table than Warrington. With Warrington refusing to increase the original offer, it looks like a departure is on the cards. The player favours a move to Wigan, but its unknown if they will match the offer that saints have made.'"
Imagine being a Saints fan reading this
Warrington, who know most about his long-term fitness outlook, are only willing to keep him on a reduced contract and unwilling to negotiate. He would rather go to Wigan, but is using Saints as a way to leverage a higher contract from them. If he doesn't get what he wants from Wire or Wigan, Saints are his fallback.
Saints are that 6/10 that you keep on the go on tinder in case the other two you're dating find out about each other.

| According to Forty20 Leeds are sniffing around Currie now. Wonder who’s next to be linked? Bit of a merry go round isn’t it...

You don’t seriously think Warrington are a more attractive club to sign for than Saints, do you?

| Warrington on reduced wages can still out strip the larger offers of others. Wire have a far greater chance of reaching finals and the player gets fat bonuses from that, topping up his contract.

I'm sorry RD but, even by your own standards, that is complete and utter b****cks.
Last year we put one over on Saints by beating them at Wembley but Saints got to both major finals, winning the Grand Final, and claiming the League Leaders Shield along the way.
What we can say is that Warrington are now one of the big clubs. We have ambition, we have appeared in both the Challenge Cup and Grand Finals in recent years and we have training facilities which are up there with the very best. From all accounts our player welfare side of the club is also excellent.
Currie is no different to any other employee in an organisation. He may choose to move to another employer for various reasons such as better pay, better promotion prospects (in the case of a RL player substitute that for silverwear), better working conditions etc. He may also want to leave for 'negative' reasons i.e. he doesn't like his boss or the way things are run. Sometimes people just need a change.
If he hasn't fallen out of love with us then we should be a good position to retain him - if we choose to. He's 26 next month, if he hadn't had his injury problems then this contract would have been the biggest of his career. From all accounts we offered him less money, maybe somebody else is willing to take more of a chance.

| James Graham has asked for an immediate release to join a Super League side. Eek. If it's Saints it's got the Rooney to Everton vibe about it. Still a legend but way past his best. If it's not Saints, it's a big shocker. The fiery redhead in a Wire shirt till the end of the season perhaps?

Definitely Saints, makes zero sense for Wire to sign Graham when they have Hill and Cooper who are both in their thirties. Interesting signing for Saints, past his best clearly but I wonder if he’ll have enough in the tank to go well for them. Can count on one hand the number of good props in SL at the moment so he’ll probably still churn out 100+ metres a game.

| Apparently Sandow got £35k final bonuses that was written into his contract to get him something like the £230k per annum he was asking for,....apparently.
After he paid off Leon, he was left with £600...allegedly.
Bought a flight and returned to Aus without anyone knowing...apparently, leaving Bob the kit man knocking on the door of an empty house ahead of taking him to the airport with a ticket already bought by the club for him...apparently.
Other players bonuses were around £5k for the final appearance....apparently!
