| Powell wouldn't have let Hill go for no reason, he'll have somebody lined up to replace him. Gutted he's gone and whoever comes in has MASSIVE boots to fill, so we'll wait and see who comes in.
There's no way Bullock (if signed) Is Hills replacement. He'd take up Sita's spot in the prop rotation and if he gets his form back will be a very handy addition. But we still need a Big Solid Prop.
Ashton i don't think will be retained but we'll find that out tomorrow after the match i suppose
This is his last year contracted with us isn't it? Or did i forget he signed a new deal?

| Quote: CW8 "Agree with this too, if the correct replacement isn't available this year then a 1 year contract is right for the club. If we give him 2 years we miss out on any suitable replacement prop who would be available at the end of 2021 and 2022 or we have a massive amount of cap tied up in props for a season.
I am hopeful we have got someone signed already rather than the last minute KFP mission to Australia for recruitment which has so far yielded very little other than wasted cap space.'"
If as a club Wire thought Hill was good enough for two year deal, he would signed it. But Wire don’t. So Hill signs elsewhere and for me that’s a professional club been right in its decision. Yes, Hill has been an absolute class act, but we move forward.

Hmmm. But the same club thought Asotasi, Ryan Bailey, Gary Wheeler and Latu were worthy of deals so I'd suggest that someone, somewhere has impaired judgement.
Or is just plain dumb.

| As disappointed as I am that Hill is leaving, I'll be absolutely fuming if we let Ashton follow him out the door.

| I can't see Ashton staying if he hasn't already signed really. Same goes for Jason Clark.

Just had a look at squad numbers, since he took over 2014, he had Nathan massey in the 13 shirt till 2017 which been Adam Miller.
Milner as mentioned a converted hooker, massey to my recollection is a back row, edge type, not a ball player as I recall.
Mind if they went with 3 props, they probably had Millington has a passer/offloaded
Checking Checking team sheets might take a while, I've just found I've been banned by cas twitter account

| Reyt, in 2014 powells first season in charge, with minimal recruitment
At loose forward he started
Grant millington 19 times
Nathan massey 11 times
Scott wheeldon 3 times (a prop)
And lee jewitt 1 time (back rower)
Half of masseys starts came around wembley time when millington was out injured, back end of the summer
2015
Nathan massey 19 starts at lf.
Gadwin springer 2 starts (prop backrower)
Scott wheeldon/Lee jewitt/matt Cook 1 start a piece.
Grant millington is getting named in the front row exclusively at this point
2016
Nathan massey 18 starts
Lee jewitt 5
Junior moors 2
I shall keep going, but at the moment the evidence isn't suggesting a ball playing loose forward, to my mind he's been in favour of six, seven and the fullback being his creative hub

I've changed my mind on this now it seems hill and sita announcements were made so they got a good send off at today's match along with the rest of the players and coaches who are announced as leaving. Surely they would have done the same for Ashton and Clark if they were going? Unless they are yet to decide themselves about a contract which is on offer to them?

Chris is 33 and will be 35 at the end of a 2 year contract so no issue for me given the guys quality, fitness and general his proven ability to stay injury free.
Giving him one at 35 would more likely be.

| These departures are probably driven by the salary cap biting.
When players like Toby King and Currie were due for new deals, fans said "we have to sign him up, it would be crazy to lose him"
When George Williams became available everybody was excited that we landed him.
At that time they aren't thinking of the flipside at the other end, where we have to release players or reduce our ability to compete with rival clubs that are also offering them deals.

| Chris Hill has just confirmed on Radio Manchester that Warrington offered him a 1 year deal, but he turned it down in favour of the 2 year deal that he signed for Huddersfield.
