| At the start of the season I would say our squad was good enough to win the grand final, it was also good enough to win the Challenge Cup, but was it good enough to win both, I think not but dependant upon the dynamics of the season not out of the question.
To win the cup involved four high intensity sudden death games against good super league opponents which subsequently drained us, and set in against the injuries , players loss of form, and short in the props dept contributed to our loss of league games we should have won.
To win both takes a really exceptional team and we wasn’t.
It was always one or the other to add to the locker cup

| What I expect from my team and what I will take are 2 different things.
It's like selling an item...what its worth and what I would take.
I expected 2 finals and 2 wins...
But I'd take a challenge cup any day above a GF...(sorry I'm old school.)

| We have played like a team that is less than the sum of its parts. That screams “coaching issue” to me. The fact that we got worse as the season went on indicates the same. Despite the most satisfying of CC wins if I was the owner I would be looking around for a new coach sooner rather than later.

| It was foolish to give price an extension after reaching 2 finals in the first year. We should have won the CC in 2018 anyway.
I do have a bit of sympathy for him though - I will explain. I am not too sure that Burrell was signed on the recommendation of Price, I just can't see an NRL coach signing a RU player like this. And in my opinion this is where it all started to go wrong. I know that there were a lot of players angry about the signing of a 30 odd year old Hicks to replace Fa"afili and we have replaced Atkins with Burrell and then Goodwin decides he is going back to South's.
Some of the senior players were here for the demise of Tony Smith and it appears that they will be here when Price leaves, I think they have a part to play in this. When you look at the results and performances before and after the CC final it looks as though those players won the CC despite price rather than because of him and all the high fives and hugs after the game were window dressing.
I am not a big fan of price and I do think he needs to go as I can't see this turning round in the off season. From an outsider it appears that when the players wanted to play the Price way they could (cc final and semi) but when they didn't want to they threw their toys out of the pram and that is more disappointing than a coach that is jut not very good.
The Wembley win was great but other than that 80 mins this season has been a disaster. The club will give it a few weeks before they trott out Widdop to push ST sales but it will take more than that to convince me that we will turn it around.

Barring one game saints have played with the intensity required and ability to blood youngsters whilst still winning games. Wigan got off to a bad start but have strung a good run of wins together as have salford so to suggest that sides are only capable of 4 big games a year is crazy.
If price is to stay there needs to be changes ade Gardner n Lee Briers don't really seem to be adding much we're nowhere near as fit as under Clark and Patton has had Lee Briers in the coaching set up yet still not really improved. Some serious reorganisation in the back room hendo to coach reserves with the plan to promote to first team coach in 2022 giving him experiance and the time to set things up so reserve players can come in and fit into ghe first team when needed, Knowing the structures etc.
Somthing that shows the fans that this year has not been viewed as a success despite the cc win the league performance with first out of playoffs far outweighs the effect of the cc win

| I have to agree with what Captain Hook says, we flattered to deceive early on in the season and were lucky to win some of those games. With the poor start for teams like Wigan. We were definitely lucky to be sat in 2nd. Then we had Sky saying it was a two horse race and even then you could see we werent playing well. We've had a couple of good games, but we have scrapped through lots of games and i dont think ive ever been so bored watching us. If you did a graph of boredom vs quality of the squad this has to be the worst we've had. I have never been impressed with Price and i would like him to go. With Austin and Widdop in the halves playing 5 drives and a kick, they will be as bored as me.

| How many times can you extract the urine from the fans ? Fans who pay their hard earned money every week & clap the team off every week ,win or lose. There have been too many sub standard performances this year & ,apart from Wembley, we are playing no better now than the opening game.

| What Widdop and Austin know best is an NRL structured game...as does Price...A system Madge installed at Wigan to great success.
All three now have learnt a little more to the UK game too.
Sounds like a plan to me

| We won the Challenge cup. One of two trophies I'm bothered about winning in any normal year. Plenty of other good teams start the season with the same goal.
If we don't win a trophy I expect us to be strongly challenging for one year in year out, if we don't hit that target, then depending on circumstance I'd be looking to replace the coach.
As Price delivered the challenge cup this season, I'm quite happy. We won one of the two trophies that 6 clubs probably had their eyes on in pre season. Yes SL was disappointing in the way it finished, but much of that I believe was down to playing the final third of the year with our two first choice half backs missing.
We've added some quality at 7 in 2020 which has been required for some time, for the first time in a long time we have two half backs that I am happy with going in to a new season.
Price has made his mistakes, easy to say with hindsight but not replacing Brown was a big mistake, and replacing him with Smith at the last minute just made a bad situation worse - he was no better than Patton. Atkins leaving with no replacement was also strange, why didnt we look to strengthen? Seems very un Warrington like to have £90k or so salary cap space for Brown sitting unused for most of the season, then also allowing a decent earner in Atkins to leave without replacing him with someone also seemed odd.
The big one for me is this: Other clubs seem to be able to put new players into existing attacking structures and their style of play continues unaffected (largely). With Warrington it always seems to me if a significant player (Briers / Austin / Clark / Ratchford etc) are missing, we completely have to change our game plan as a result - we seem too reliant on individuals rather than playing collectively as a team. Think Cas or Saints etc. their style of play continues unchanged and they remain successful, regardless of injuries. Thats a key area we need to work on next season with Widdop, lets put the structure around him and Austin, and make sure we arent reliant on those two players to make the structure work.
Sorry, that ended up a longer post than I expected! In short I'm happy with Price, but we have areas to improve on if Warrington & Price are going to be successful.

| Price's comments after the Cas game saying "I'm not quite sure where we went wrong" and "we have been clunky for weeks" hardly inspire confidence for 2020.

Interesting as he's been saying 'there are easy fixes to our form' for the last 4 months. I'm still waiting.

| Him admitting that he didn't have a clue about the details of Austins injury during the Cas game and then the 'tired' excuse also didn't sit well with me. Now we have Livett off on loan to HKR...maybe Jason Clark should be banished to darkest Hull for the season instead.

The big one for me is this
Smith being 'no better than Patton' wasn't the reason for his addition...He was cover for hb injuries during the play offs and mainly because Austin's recovery was in doubt.
Unfortunately Smith got a suspension and we played an unfit Austin...and got found out.
Releasing Atkins was to have zero effect on the remainder of our season...he wasn't going to get a game at Warrington and I feel the club had a moral obligation to let Atkins have an influence on his future to help keep Wakey in SL
