| Quote: Wires71 "Stagnated on quality.
Bullock - Prop. Wigan deemed not up to their standard (as they did for Hughes) - he is doing OK but miles off Hill's stats.
Holmes - 29 second row - some nice assists.
Maguolias - second row / LF who has played 17 NRL games over 2 seasons for an NRL team that missed the playoffs. Are we hoping we have unearthed a diamond?
Harrison - Gamble signing from lower league, unproven at top level following 4 game trial with Leeds, unfortunate career threatening injury.
We desperately needed an international quality prop forward and together with Bullock we may have been OK.
I suspect too much of our cap is spent on halves and backs.'"
Wigan didnt play him due to other issues, mainly attitude

I said not up to their standard. That can include attitude, work rate, skill etc.

What was it why they dropped him, I think it was early-ish in the season and it wasn't long after rumours of him going to Warrington started...I figured dropped because he signed for us ?

Don't know what Pieman knows but i heard it all began with Bullock's timekeeping. Constantly late for training. That's what i was told, How much truth is in that i don't know.

During his brief stint in the NRL he was consistently a high performer, when Warrington do click Williams will start to impress and you'll see his worth.

Agree with this, I've no concerns with Williams.
Bar the much discussed issues at prop and possibly 13 (Magoulias jury still out as he hasnt had much gametime) I've no real concerns with the squad itself. Currie, King, Holmes, Mata'utia have all come in for some stick recently, but I think they are more than capable of being in a Warrington 17 that wins a Grand Final, what needs to change is attitude, effort and structure. They are obviously low on enthusiasm right now, maybe they are unhappy with some of the changes behind the scenes - its difficult to know that from the outside. Maybe some of the established players will need to move on to allow Powell to stamp his authority on the squad, time will tell.
I'm still well in Powells corner on this, but maybe he came in and tried to change too much too soon?

We were knocked out of the play offs in the 1st round at home for 3 consecutive years, so serious changes were required.
Powell had to act quickly and if some players don`t like it, then tough............

Changes yes, but there are many ways to facilitate change - I just wonder if he would approach it in a different way given the start we have had.
If in a few weeks we are singing on the same hymm sheet its probably justified, if we are in this situation all year it will seriously hit the club in the pocket as attendances will suffer.

Some of our players have already contributed to our two previous coaches leaving.
Powell will have realised this and knew it wouldn`t be an easy gig.
You are correct that the situation will probably drag on all season., but we are already out of the Challenge Cup and highly unlikely to qualify for the play-offs.
I have already written off this season, and the games are very painful to watch but I am still right behind Powell.

Exactly, rip the plaster off quickly.
There is 3/4 season left. I am hoping that we may just sneak into the playoffs but not expecting us to do much.

| Powell has a record of improving clubs and players. He’s had one pre-season to completely turn things upside down. He’s done it at previous clubs and I’d back him to do it here. If that means using this season to separate the wheat from the chaff then so be it. I’d rather see a load of young home-grown players putting us in a good position for the future than watch overrated NRL castoff players and coaches fail here for one or two seasons on a repeat cycle.
I hope things turn around this year, but we may have to settle for a slow climb back up the curve before we see the benefits.

We have to let him rebuild this team.... i think its now obvious, to everyone watching, that its not a quick 1 season fix.
I think we have to write off this season completely.. as we look like one of the worst 3 teams in the league.
The team needs a clearout of say, 75% of the first team players? Thats not going to be the easiest of tasks given the contracts people have been given (actually im typing that and being presumptious... for all i know, half these charlatans have contracts up at the end of the season.. i bet they dont though).... so moving some of them on isnt going to be easy.
probably 2-3 seasons before we are competitive again... Powell should be backed to do this... As this is what he does.
