I thought he was appealing for a forward pass

We'll agree to disagree on that one then. I've seen Briers throw some proper dummy-spit tantrums over his career with us, specifically early on which was when he got his reputatiton for being a whinger that other teams fans won't let go (even though, these days, he's extremely level headed).

It did look a blatant double movement in real time so I can see where he would get that idea from. I only realised it wasn't when I saw it on the screen. He went to put it down but held it above ground then moved it down.
I was going mental at the whole team then. Anderson at that stage only had one leg, he could barely put weight on his other and still managed to waltz through.

Saw it from 10 metres away, Anderson had lost control of the ball regained it with both arms on the floor then started to move again to put the ball over.....double movement, Wellens asked Bentham to go to the screen, Bentham declined and gave the try.

| Strange how it showed up on TV that he held the ball and his arms up and then grounded it correctly. Isn't it amazing how often reality is wrong, especially when you're getting a hammering and looking for any excuse.

Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

Incredible..............I have watched it about 8 times and at no point does he loose the ball, regain it and one or both of his arms hit the ground to create a double movement!
Jog on ya fool!!!

ten metres away from knowsley road maybe, the joy of sky plus means we can confirm you should have gone to specsavers!
and to para-phrase you "wellens yet again sulked and moaned at the ref to give them a chance, and bentham dismissed him as a fool who takes getting beaten badly and awarded the try"

To be fair it did look like it at the ground. I appealed until I saw the screen and it looked completely different. An optical illusion if you will. Quite how the ref saw it right is beyond me, but fair play to him for that.

It was never a double movement, it's as simple as that. And it's nice to see Bentham stand his ground when Wellens is screaming in his ear.

| I mentioned this (the ref whinging) in a similar post relating to Super Sini signing for another 4 years at the Whinos.
You NEVER see the ref marching the offending side back 10 metres anymore, but the level of whinging has rocketed in the last couple of years, Saints and Leeds being the worst offenders. As I said in the same post, at annoys the pooh out of me, when Briers does it ( to be honest, he still does it, though not to the degree of say, 6 or seven years ago).
Instead of the refs being over-pedantic over certain minor infringements at the start of every season, they should be instructed to be tougher on the abuse they take. MARCH SINNERS BACK 10M EVERYTIME, they'll soon stop abusing refs, then.

Surely you can`t think that Kevin Sinfield, Sean O`Loghlin or James Graham would penalise their own teams and march them back 10 metres.
