I only caught the fist half as I was off out last night, but he certainly seemed like his spell at Widnes has helped him. Fairly quiet in the first half but OK.

Let's see how he does against Wakefield this weekend, and who knows: he may even get to pay at Wembley.

In that first half he certainly didn't get the best chances.

The only problem I have is that he still seems to come in off his wing too far for my liking - we'll get that out of him.

Quote: Warrington Wolf "Thought he has had a shocker tonight. Would like to see how people on here could defend him? He has played at Widnes so gametime is not an issue.
Whilst he can't be on that much by getting rid of him and a few others will help get better quality replacements into the squad.
This is not a sour grapes thread, its a one of opinion. I didn't think we were going to win tonight looking at our team.
Oh but were going to Wembely Que Sera Sera......

P.S Thank god Gleeson scored as Wigan would have had the receipt out looking for a refund'"

you must be one of them that shouts all game, (get on your wing penny), really riles me up that chant, people think he should just stand a metre from the touchline no matter wot is happening in play, for god sake he has to slide with the defence, if the defence isnt over and penny is on his wing then they walk over the line where the centre should be, the whole defencive line was e against wigan, actually thought penny shown a bit of promise in a few areas

Yes but most of the tries scored were from penny bein in the wrong position. He shouted and shouted for the ball all the time but 80% of the time he had it, he made a mistake.

Very hit and miss tonight. Smith should leave him out of the squad as he may be one big liability. He came in off his wing again, and his first half display, despite his first try, was shocking.

C'mon Tony. We trust you.

Despite being one of his biggest fans,I thought he had a shocker. TBH, he was tryin too hard. He needs to calm down, and he will go well. He scored one, and had two disallowed, so it could easily have been very different.

On the button. He was chasing everything instead of letting the players inside him do the work. The biggest problem was he didn't twig that is 100 mph approach needed tempering.

In all seriousness he was defiently trying to hard, to show people he is good enough, i personally think he will make it. he needs to wait for the ball instead of chasing it around.

Who can blame him for trying too hard? After an excellent start at the club he was dropped following a few bad games, a confidence knock to any player. Not only will his confidence have been low to begin with after playing badly, his coach then leaves him out of the squad sending the message loud and clear: "I don't believe in you either".

Then he's shipped off to Widnes. An even bigger knock. Not only is he not good enough to be picked, it's not thought that he will be as he's shipped off to a lesser club.

No he's back no wonder he's keen to impress. I'm sure he knows he only got a handful of games to shine or be shipped back so he's trying to make the most of them. I feel quite sorry for him.

Spot on with that.

I'm worried we'll ship him out before we see his realise his true potential, and despite what all of the cox on here say about him he is one of the most exciting players I've seen in a Wire shirt.
