| Lee Gaskell out for Huddersfield. Personally I'd move Hughes to centre with BMM into the 2nd row. Ratchford has to stay at the back for me.

| Ratchford can have much more influence down the middle. Leave him at fullback. Ashton has done great is is very exciting but he's just had a serious injury let him come off the bench again this week. Just bring brand in for me. We will never find out if he is worth keeping if he never gets a game.

| I had forgotten about the need to fit BMM into the team. Yes, you could move Hughes to centre, that little one arm flick pass out of the side could give Charnley a bit of space down the wing. Plus defensively, he would be much stronger than Gelling. I suppose dropping Jason Clark is another option. I am not his biggest fan.

| Totally understand other views but we have a team of good solid players e,g, Hughes at Centre. But Ashton looks special to me.

| I'd like to see Hughes at 13 if he gets moved anywhere, i think he'd be brilliant 13 but i think they'll keep him at second row. BMM on the bench and Price will bring in Mamo at Centre.
I wonder if Leilani Latu will ever get a game, i think we'll see Sammy Kibula before Latu. Price doesn't seem happy with him at all, and seeing as KF was in Aus prop searching i wonder if he's signed him and Price didn't want him?
Not sure if KF could do that without prices say so, I've no idea about stuff like that does anyone know how signing work behind the scenes?
Oh yeah i think Gellings Ban is fair, another one of the stupid things he does that stops him being an Amazing centre.

| Interesting that Burrell has not been mentioned as a straight up replacement.

Good point. I had forgotten about him. Wonder how he fits into the whole scheme of things.

| If our best player is going to get his hands on the ball more at centre than in the spine, I’d say yes, I agree...,
You do know that won’t happen right?

| Currie to centre, BMM second row. Need another forward on bench aswell so ashton or walker to be dropped.

+1
Brand is our investment here...Has he bulked enough muscle though?
Burrell, could he be an inbetweener? I’d like to see him get a run at centre for the 2 games though. We’ll get to see how good his hands and peripheral are and be able to rule on him one way or the other.
The safe money call is Mamo.

| Is it that simple ?
There are probably two changes; 1. BMM comes into the pack and 2. Gelling goes out to the naughty step. If you wan't to keep it as simple as possible you move Hughes to centre and BMM to BR. You then only make one playing change to the team.
I am not saying that it would be my preferred choice btw.

| Is second row or centre any different in the modern game?
Surely it's just a case of Hughes moving to 3 and BMM coming into the second row?

Well it's true that we have lost some specialist positions. We now have two SO's rather than a SH and SO. And the hooker has taken the role of the SH. But surely there should be a big difference between a ball playing BR and a centre ? We are looking for someone who can get the winger away using a bit of guile / footwork /burst of speed. Hughes can do ok in that position by holding off attackers and getting a one handed pass away, but there is a big chunk of talent missing from the rest of his play. Compare him with Gelling and you see the initial speed and deception that he can produce to open up a small gap. In contrast Hughes looks a bit heavy and laboured as you might expect from a forward.

| I think you have just made a case for a viable & effective schools, youth & academy system there Mr Winslade in order to produce the best in future players.
Doubtful we will see the like of that again though.
