| First class facilities, directors who never stint to put their hands in their pockets, enough backroom staff to start a small war and brilliant away support for our matches. Then there is the squad comprising 5-6 England internationals plus BMM. Yes there are some deficiencies, but that squad should easily be capable of finishing top 3. Most of the pieces of the jigsaw are surely already in place ?
What is being said in the changing room and those ever so important one to one relationships between coach and players is unfortunately a white space on the map. There is no point in believing what players or the manager say to the camera / press. New players that join a club are apparently living the dream and have had a life-long ambition to play for you, coaches are stunned at poor performances because the squad trained really well beforehand and were up for the match. So we are only really left with the players body language and level of effort in the game to do the talking.
Looking at the game against Toronto I thought it was the worst performance from Wire that I had seen in a long time. There was nowhere near enough effort from some of the players, the team looked disjointed, and the defensive line was very poor. On the few occasions Toronto threatened our line they looked as though they could score. I thought perhaps they were low in confidence, which considering the talent they had available compared to Toronto was perhaps ridiculous, but they were certainly not 'in the zone'. Toronto worked hard, never stopped trying when they were behind and shrugged off the errors that they made. In short they were a model for how we should have been playing. The Leeds game was similar with little response when we went behind. It seemed that the team were almost accepting defeat and just going through the motions.
Regardless of exactly what has gone wrong it's clear that the coach / squad relationship simply isn't working, and this run of poor performances stretches back a long way. I just hope the club acts quickly rather than allowing this situation to continue, otherwise I will be back to playing plastic cup football in the empty spaces of the South stand.

| Shane Flanagan is available. If I was Moran I’d be on the phone to him this morning.

I hate to say this But a Tony Smith Style "Clean Sweep" is Required'"
That applies to the playing squad too. Price must go, the buck stops with him, but there’s a core group there that helped to end Tony Smith’s tenure and they’re doing the same here with Price. The attitude on them stinks and the lack of desire is a worry.

So who is in the so-called ‘core group’?

Spot on, BiS,
Good old Wire. "Do you want a job, 'cause you can have one. You've been with the club for years, so you'll know everyone blah, blah blah."
The whole nice culture we' ve exuded for decades, bites us on the bum, time after time.
Briers, Westwood, Chambers and countless others given roles. What exactly has Briers done, since retirement. Bar the 3 months of Sandow brilliance, our attacking play has bored the life out of our fans. We rarely score any tries outside the opposition's 20m zone. Just barge over tries, or scoots from Clarke resulting in a pass. Briers isn't a solution. After 7 years, he's a problem. Henderson's 3 season, and nothing has changed. He too, is a problem.
New broom. New support staff. Bye bye Old Boys network.
Time to be ruthless

We might as well get her mum, Audrey. She's got more attacking ideas than Price, AND she could sort out Austin's hair, and give Clarke's beard a trim, too.
Everyone's a winner

To be honest Its one of the Things that leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I'll never forget what Briers did as a player , however if I see his big beardy face looking blank again I may cry

| Even though were Challenge Cup holders, it's difficult to make a case for the defence with SP. Something is clearly not working with the performance on the field in the last 9 months, Moran and Middleton must also be getting frustrated, too. They'll want a better return than they're getting on their outlay.

| I had forgotten about Flanagan until I saw his son playing for the roosters last week. He has been allowed back as an assistant in the NRL but I wonder what stance the SL/RFL would take on that restriction. Before Moran gets on the phone to Flanagan we would have to check out his eligibility to coach in SL first.
