From what i read on Face Ache it was mostly Agar giving an insight to coaching. The uneducated on there said they have changed there opinion of him, he sounded very very knowledgeable. I was like, surely any coach at that level has to be knowledgeable?? Doesnt mean you are good at translating it to players, or indeed any good at man management or motivation?!!.....sounded like not much else was discussed.

Maybe we will get someone on here that can fill us in when the evening shift starts. As most on that Facebook group are not in the real world!!

There is nothing outrageous about not posting anything, the video analysis part of the meeting was very insightful and some of what I saw made me personally angry at some of what I saw, I don't want to go into name calling, all I can say is it was not a current Wire player that was cause of my annoyance.

My overall view of what I could see is player power as got a good grip of the game, this due to not enough players making into first team rugby,I'm not just talking about our club it seems to be right across the board.so basically some players get away with stuff just because clubs have not got someone good enough to replace said player.

The second part of the meeting was about Membership 2018, we were shown artwork for the marketing and a brief talk about what their aims are, I say brief because Agar's part went on a good couple of hours. But the basics are current members get an early bird offer for new members it's £20 higher and then standard price is a lot higher, if I've got it right based on North stand current member it's £305 new member £325 once early bird is over it's either £358 or £368 not 100% about that.

Apologies to anyone who think these meetings are about going in ranting and raving it's not and that would solve nothing,and it's not an arris kissing exercise, questions were again asked about recruitment but it was refered back to what was said at previous meeting, which the notes of are on the club website for all to see.

So they found time to talk about Marketing strategies and aims that involved talking about next years season ticket pricing, sorry memberships. That's handy isn't it............

As side note to what I've just posted, I like a lot of people have been calling for a Smith and Agar to be removed. As I said to someone at the meeting last night for most of us saying that it's because of what we see out on the field, unfortunately we all don't get to see what we were shown last night and yes I guess what Longbarn Wire said about people on Facebook changing their mind, I have not really changed my mind because even though I saw the man does do a lot of work I still think a change of personal will freshen things up.

So what exactly is it you want ? Someone asked and I've posted best as I can.

Yes I did and to be honest I think I knew the answer before it was given. It's simple really when you think about it, when we had the likes of Briers ,M Monaghan Hodgson etc etc, we have never been able to replace that kind of player, they are just not out there are and those that are they are tied up with good contracts and the Aussies just don't want to come over anymore because they can earn a lot more over there, Karl said they offered one player a contract that would of made the player the highest paid in SL, he turned it down, they simply said if the right player is available our club would be there with cheque book open, short of putting the players arm up his back and forcing him to sign there is nothing that can be done, as I said in an earlier post there are fewer and fewer good players to go around these days,it explains why some of what we watch is utter crap.

On the marketing aspect, did anyone question the wisdom of the increasing the price of the season tickets, after the garbage we have had to watch this season?

I would be very surprised if the season ticket sales don't plummet this year, after the terrible rugby on display and the awful fixture dates that we have had to suffer.

I spoke to Karl a few weeks back and he told me that next year will be predominately Friday night matches with the odd Saturday or Sunday (probably no Sundays again).

Maybe incriminating photos are need karetaker, but in reality,what we need is for a coach to bring out the best from the players we have.

Thanks for the update I appreciate it, to be honest I wrote Outrageous behavior saying it in a ello ello style in my head (not that you would have know obviously).
It sounds a bit like the club were trying to divert away from most of the key questions most people want to know.
1. Is Smith going to be here next season
2. Any clues on who they are chasing
3. What's happening with the other players out of contract
And so on. I couldn't care less how hard Agar thinks he is working.
It's good that it's not a slanging match and sounds like it's a well run event but it would be nice to get some key things over to the fans, I know some transfers are sensitive before the end of the season but give us something to hope for.

I knew it was nothing to do with this club, just that everyone else has more money than us to sign all the internationals and we are stuck with the journeyman scraps like Clarke, Hill, Ratchford et al who will never get near an international jersey...

Still sounds a bit baffling to me. Almost like he's saying that the coaching is right but the quality of players means that we can't execute properly, which leads me to ask, shouldn't we change tactics? You wouldn't train a shot putter to run 200m and hope one day it clicks, you train him to his strengths.

Agar may come across as a nice guy and it may well be a bit of a sales pitch, but ultimately it's been a dross season and a few forum's and some video analysis won't win over disgruntled fans who can clearly see there's effort lacking on the pitch. If we had effort, i wouldn't be half as ed off.
