| Actually lay off of the Duck. We all know what he is like, accurate or not I often find him amusing. At least he isn’t self righteous.

| Goodness me, what the hell are you lot bickering about? Cast your mind back 12 months and be thankful for how far we've come and unite in excitement.
RD is the on-line version of the bloke who stood next to me in the Locker Cup at Wigan and told me a debuting Basil Richards would be the next Hanley and a Wire Great. Harmless fun, all in the game.
Stick to legitimate, deserving targets that aren't P&B.

Somehow I don't think I will be saying that this season.
The conundrum will be around 12 months time when we wonder which half will partner which...unless the Pies come in for him.

| Here's the thing.
Too many are biting there lips ready to pounce itching for Patton to drop a bollc so they can slate him...well not too many of you guys on here really but on the bacefook.
It far to say but for counting on 2 fingers on this platform almost all of us agree how good that team effort was last night...and will point so many of that team out individually and praise how good they were....but so many shying away from holding their hands up and Patton who was great. The silence is defending.
In fact posters saying he was OK.
And people say I post shat...! Hey I do often, but I'll give the odd comeback when posts get a little personal but by and large I except all criticism.
But smell the custard...you cannot say the team was 'great' 'fantastic' 'words of superlative' and others and then swerve the effort of Patton within those comments and seriously not say 'he was ok' ...'not good but not bad'.
Have a word with yourselves.

Thanks for that.
Yes my level is no higher than that of any fan.
My crime is being very impressed by this team. Early remarks by so many top pundits and especially the bookies rarely get it wrong...I'm going one step ahead and calling it now instead of being cautious.
If confidence is a crime then I plead guilty. Bragging and trolling isn't my thing. If readers take my confidence as so then I apologise, not for being confident, but because I'm not going to change my mind.
My money is on Wire...with Patton in it.

| I was very impressed with the off-loading we achieved..especially in the 1st half....Cooper and Lineham were very effective at this, Austin will thrive off that...

| I wasn't disappointed with anyone last night, I thought across the board we looked an improvement on last year. Including Patton.
My issue with Dec is I look at players like Hughes, Ratchford, Cooper, Clarke, Philbin, Lineham and they have all.made significant improvements under Price whereas Dec hasn't.
They'll be off-days for Austin or ganes where we rest him and it's [ithen[/i Dec needs to show he genuinely has improved not just his skills but his game management.
But to be fair, I watched Myler last night and he is doing (or rather not doing) what he did at Wires, and I certainly wouldn't swop Patton for him.

| Thought the performance was superb. We seemed very lively, enthusiastic and had good pace of movement in attack, largely down to Austin who for a first game looked very good. He showed more enthusiasm and interest in one game than Roberts showed all season. Behind a dominant and superb performance by the pack I thought Clark was excellent. All in all a good marker and one can only hope there is more to come.

| Brilliant display by the whole team, defensively we we're Much much better then i've seen in a long time.
Attacking we were very good aswell and we seem like a very well oiled machine.
Goodwin was excellent, Austin was brilliant, Atkins seems like a new player who has finally developed ball playing skills, Toby King has put a little bit of size on and played well in the second row. Dec Patton made a few mistakes at the beginning but got better as the game went on and i think a few more games under his belt in the halves and he will settle right in and develop
And we still have the likes of Mamo, Currie, Livett, Tasi, Akuoala still not played so i'm very excited for this season.
I know it's only one game but we looked very very good

For me he was ok.
No I'm not waiting for him, or any other player to slip up.
DP is a squad player who has a big opportunity due to Brown's misfortune. I am not expecting top draw performances, but I'm expecting a solid, dependable season, as "OK" is acceptable for DP.
OK wasn't acceptable for Roberts last year, nor is it for the big signings this, or, next year, on a week to week basis.
In 2020, I expect Widdop and Austin to be first choice half back partners. OK for DP is fine, as that is what my expectation of him is, same as it was for GOB.
Our squad have different roles to play, as long as they fulfill them, I'm more than happy.

That's what we got!
This season I expect the lot...and we'll win the lot. The squad quality is just too deep to fail.
I saw Saints...they played well but the depth in forwards is still shallow. Warmsley is massive for them no question. They'll be near us but not better. I still say Wakefield will be the strongest chaser.'"
‘Strongest chaser’ Wakefield just lost 42-24 to London.
