So the board are coming in for a lot of flak for supposed meddling etc. DP was given carte blanche by the sounds of it and a good 18 months and he’s made an absolute hash of it. The board have invested heavily in the academy and are clearly hell bent on getting that right, reading between the lines I think they’re disappointed in Powell’s treatment of some of the youngsters. Yes he gave a few a go but was too afraid to call on them during tough times. I mean it really is poor to say he couldn’t drop two middles when there were youngsters available…..we may have lost but not by 42-6.

If I was the journalist I would have perhaps been tempted to ask what happened at the time of the implosion around the McGuire incident.

So Yeh Fitzpatrick has made mistakes but he is passionate and cares lmao if that is a requisite for getting a job then we can all be CEO.

Nothing particularly surprising here really. There’s a lot of truth here, the coach is responsible for the under-performance of the players, which is fair given the final call on the recruitment of players and assembled this team.

On Fitzpatrick, he’s almost agreeing with the vast majority on here in that he has skills in certain areas. We have sighted social media as a particular strength, but Middleton goes deeper into it by explaining his relationships with stakeholders and sponsors. All important parts of the CEO. There is still the yawning gap in the Director of Rugby role in my opinion.

I’m sure Powell would sight flaws in the club, likely to be Fitzpatrick and the board through to the resilience of the fanbase.

I would think a few of our recently departed players would have something to say about their time at the Wire.

Probably that they were handsomely paid for minimal effort.

Sadly, they had to recruit and pay for additional staff to help run their businesses since their new clubs insist on them attending all training sessions for the full duration.
