| Is it true ?
His contract ends this year so he might be asking for 'too much' whatever that might be in todays climate. He is a Leigh lad and perhaps he has been offered a big wad to move back home. So yes, I would say it's plausible.
Do we need him ?
He has faded but is still a very good prop and it would not be good management to release him when we have only recruited two hopefuls that may or may not become first choice props.

| If we had a prop of 'equal standing' ready to come in to replace him, I'd be ok with it, although be a shame to see him go - he's been a great player for us. But could probably get more money and a longer deal with Leigh.
However given most clubs are on the lookout for props, I'd be surprised if there was another option readily available, unless we have transfer funds available - which given the climate again would be unlikely.

It's a testimonial granted by the RFL though so he'd still have that at Leigh (I think) if this did turn out to be true.

| If true this could be disastrous for the club ,one of the 2 props who have carried us through the season & several before the last. OK we have 2 reserve/interchange props coming in who could end up just as effective as Sita & Latu. On the other hand if Chris Hill's heart is no longer in playing for the Wire then maybe it would be for the best. I for one hope this is a load of hot air though.

Aren’t all testimonials authorised by RFL?

| Agreed it would be a disaster. Would more than negate the Philbin extension and the Butler/Mulhearn signings combined.

| stop wetting thi pants everyone, having had a look at the twitter account, he's nailed such bang on rumours, as tetevano signing for catalans, and darcy lussick signing for leeds.
Everything else seems to be common knowledge repetition.
Moley, he is not

| Can't imagine we'd just release him off his remaining contract, or that Leigh would want to pay a fee, so likely to be 2022 rather than 2021.

| Technically if he returned to Leigh at season's end would that be still classified as 2021?
We need him here this year IMO we've strengthened and appear better balanced up front but it's untested. He's still a good player and with a bit more front row help and without the captaincy I think we'd actually get more out of him, less niggle and daft penalties due to tiredness

| I think releasing him is a master stroke by Price...from the captaincy I mean. I have been urging this for a while.

| So we've been struggling for years to bring in good props, sign 2 to finally compliment Hill, Cooper and Philbin......then we let Hill go? This would be one of the dumbest things we could do, yeah he's not the force he once was but he's still a really good Prop and too good to simply ship him off to leigh. Sounds like pure poop stirring to me.
We now have the back up for Hill and Cooper to play less minutes and keep them fresher and better all yeatlr, captaincy off hill and let him play 20 mins a side and he'll be great for us this year, and less minutes for Cooper can only be a blessing.

Yes but IIRC Ryan Atkins was sold to Wakefield by us during his testimonial year and did lots of events with Wakey to mark it.
