The issue is the 2021 RLWC, and if under international rules scrums are in, then SL is doing the home nations no favours by going through the 2021 season without scrums.

But from a personal viewpoint, I haven't really missed them.

I'm all the way with you in doing away with them. The recent games without them have been better than ever. In the old days, some scrums seemed to be together forever,
As for the shot clock, I'm counting every minute of some games. It's never too late to change the rules. but hand on your heart, do you really want to? Many people wouldn't change a thing.

The one advantage of a scrum, is that it concentrates 6 or 7 players in that area, so leaving more space out wide for teams willing to play a more expansive game. Maybe some rule could be introduced to facilitate this without actually having a scrum.

Yeah but gow often does that actually happen, virtually never. They are pointless and redundant now a days.

Speaking on behalf of all backs in the world. There is much to be said for having 12 forwards out of the way for a while. Be better if they stayed bound in the scrum for much longer ... quarter of an hour seems about right.

Get rid unless they become contested again and the forwards have to pack down no wingers centres in the pack !!
