Austin looked to play a wonder pass twice! he would have struggled to make the passes in the August sunshine! Terrible game management from the half backs. Widdop? Did he play? The out-on-the-full kick from Austin at the end epitomised our terrible game management.
Who wants to go to an empty Wembley anyway?
Can't see us bothering anyone in the play-offs on that effort...although to be fair I can't see Wigan doing much either!

| You were poor. You had all the possession, Salford gifted you most of your points and you still lost. I agree that when it got to the critical part of the game Austin blew it.

I hope you're right
No excuses to get into the top 4 and on paper surely we can win the big one.
Ps
Well done Salford.

| I think losing Clarke and that filth tackle on Ratchford causing an ankle issue costs us, we seemed rudderless without them
How is clarkey
Knowing us a # jaw

| I am not going to point the finger at individuals as I thought we were collectively poor. Forget the conditions it was the same for both sides.
Will be cheering on Rhys and Kev on the day

| Strange positions Price chose from the get go, Taking Ratchford away from fullback just to get Ashton on the field i find utterly Bizzarre, yeah we get it....he's fast but he's nowhere near as good as Ratchford. Bizzarre decision by price to switch the positions that we've been winning with.
As soon as i saw the weather i said to the wife this has just turned this game on it's head before the game began.
Surprised the saints fans aren't all over the our forum ha ha
Well done Salford well deserved, got my Support in the final

| Salford played the conditions better & we still have the age old problem of being unable to score from close to the line. Austin must have kicked himself when he committed to pass to Charnley & a gap a mile wide opened up in front of him. Looking forward to watching our ex Wire players at Wembley on both sides. Well done Salford & Leeds today.

| Best team won, too many of our star players were anonymous. Just hope Salford can win it now.

| Our run of 9 games undefeated was built upon skilful handling and fast backs, both of which were removed from our armoury by the todays weather. The coach and the players haven't suddenly lost their ability and skills. Today's game was lottery, we just happen to have been dealt a bad hand.

You do realise that it tends to rain a lot in England?
Basing your club's whole strategy on only being able to perform in dry conditions is both very naive and very poor coaching.

Hate to break it to you but if you can't play in Grand Final weather, you won't win any Grand Finals.

| No doubt Salford played the conditions better than we did, and no complaints about the result.
However, poor selection has cost us twice within a week - Tuesday we dropped too many from a team on a great run, and today we played players out of position to accommodate Ashton which Price clearly realised by taking him off - too late.
Basic errors from a coach who should know better.

As I said it was a lottery.
Do you think that Salfords 2 point win indicates they were significantly better than us?.Did none of the tries scored have anything to do with chance? Were, you complaining about our style of play when we were 10 points up going into the last quarter?

Did you pick up on that error before KO?

It wasn't a lottery. It was a rugby match played in wet conditions. This wasn't the first time a game has been played in the rain. It won't be the last.
The reason we lost is that we were unable to adapt to the conditions. That is in a large way down to the coach's tactics and team selection.
We are the classic example of the flat track bully - All looks great when everything goes our way, a bit of adversity and players go hiding and any semblance of tactical nous goes out of the window.
I sincerely hope that Price can turn it round and we can get a GF win. My point is that, if he doesn't then he has had a fair shot for 3 years and should make way for someone else.
