As awful as this is (and it is terribly awful), what sort of response do you think people will put here?

I would wager that the word 'scum' will appear in at least 75% of the posts, at least 10 people will honestly talk about killing them and it will turn into a tit for tat about immigration of party politics.

It is awful, we're all disgusted and it is now a police matter.

Strange post jd. Surprised you haven't started a poll. I doubt the people who pinched it are aware of the meaning of it. I suspect it will be found or returned.

On to the topic, it's an awful crime but it seems like more of a twitter thing to bring up. No one is going to say it was a good thing and so, if people want to vent and shout at the injustice, twitter seem the place for it.

I can't imagine who would steal it (apaprt from drunkards or druggies).

Amazed at how CCTV has not caught them in the act especially after this was the 2nd attempt to steal it in the past few months (last one was by a pole). Would have thought the eye in the sky would have been keeping an extra special watch at this area. I am sure if i got caught short and had a little wee near to scott sports it would catch me

I guess that nobody could confirm it was there after 20th April and it was noticed missing on 5th May.

On top of the hideous nature of the crime itself this in itself is rather sad and also reflects poorly on the town.

I bet most people wouldn't notice if there was something up with the cenotpah till November.

I'd forgive people for not noticing. It's not a big plague, it's been there a very long time and why would someone steal it, I'd assume it was being cleaned or something.

IT was probably some 'curtain twitcher' who reported it. Was it noticed missing before Warrington Wolves were showing people round Warrington? Cause that would have been mebarrassing. 'as you can see here there is a plague in dedication to .... oh, never mind'.

Not really mate. These low-life's can be found anywhere. Anyone who has a pop at Warrington over this doesn't know thw town or the people.
