Who is to say that the RFL are paying for the maintenance? It is specific to the terms of the lease agreement.

So who assumes the responsibility for the stadia standard considering that it's one of the criteria for subsequent franchise determination ?

Well according to wednesdays Sun that is what was going to Happen some wealthy businessman was going to buy the club and the ground and move them down to Valley parade sell odsal and make a personal PILE.So the RFL stumped up a 7 figure sum and bailed em out.No wonder Wakey fans are going barmey

I thought Bradford were told to make ground improvements to Odsal or it would effect their next SL licence application same as Salford Saints who have done something and Cas Wakey Bradford whom have not ! So who pays for a new stadia for Bradford ? Before the next SL Licence ! Or are they now exempt from the process ?

You are right about the conflict of interest though. This is a very odd transaction. Let's leave Wigan out of this - how is this fair to clubs like Wire or Saints who have built new grounds but lost famous old grounds in the process? We all know what a struggle it was for Saints to get their new stadium built. How much easier the process would have been if the RFL had stepped in to help them.

Without more transparency on the deal, this just looks like Yorkshire bias and a desire to cover up the failure of the licensing process and SC to prevent clubs going bust.

The RFL own a couple of other grounds as well. And until a few months ago owns a big stake in the racecourse ground.

Valley Parade is not a Rugby stadium and in fact BCFC pay a huge amount of rent to play there every year.

I dont see anything wrong in it. They bought the lease which stopped some big git with more money than us put together making even more money.
