| Id change the rules so that when Wire play Saints they get 7 tackles per set to give them a chance and make the game interesting.

This I definitely do agree with.
There is no incentive for the player to try and remain on the field because nine times out of ten they get a penalty = a terrible rule.

| I think its quite ironic really.
The RFL get criticised a lot for coming up with barbaric ways of running the game. Top two nominations seem to be the Magic Weekend and the current play off system at the moment.
But I feel a governing body should listen to the fans of its sport from time to time. So really its little wonder the RFL come up with these 'barbaric schemes' when its own fans come up with such tripe that is a complete waste of cyberspace on the server.
For once I agree with a Saints fan. If a player commits a foul worthy of a suspension then that suspension should be served straight away. It is an inconvenience and punishment to the team whos player has received the ban, regardless of his status in the team.
Rugby League is a contact sport and injuries happen even without foul play. Its called bad luck, and is the harsh reality of professional sport. This 'eye for an eye' nonsense that is being brought up every now and then is not even how we deal with law breakers in the judicial system so why should it apply in professional sport?

Or maybe we should teach our players how to tackle properly rather than get several players to push the ball carrier into touch.

So you agree with this rule ?
The RFL have brought many new rules in that i ca remember but this is the only one i disagree with.
The onus should be on the attacking side to stay within the field of play, likewise the rule applies in field, you should be able to drive a guy back 15-20 yards. If there are 3 men in a tackle driving you into touch then your own players should back you up in keeping you out.
What would you suggest this rule brings or takes away from the game ?

| Quote: Tezzerwolf "I don't know if this has been debated on here before, but maybe it is time to change the rule that allows the team with the ball to kick it dead in goal over their opponents try line. This results in the defending team restarting the game with a tap on the twenty metre line. Surely the play should restart from where the ball is kicked from, thus discouraging negative tactics. If the ball is kicked dead in goal inside the twenty metres then the game should restart from the twenty metre line as it does now.'"
But there is also an element of 'negative' play when a full back allows the ball to 'trickle' over the deadball line rather than having any incentive to pick it up and run it out.

Why should the fullback pick the ball up and risk getting tackled and losing it?, the only way the fullback would have to field the ball would be if the rule said that the kicking team got the ball back every time they kicked it dead. This would result in teams kicking it dead every two minutes.

| I like the idea of the ball going dead over the line being played where it was kicked, this would change tremendously the game, and bring more bombs/strategic kicking more back into play.
Can someone answer me 1 question though, wasn't there a rule for 20m re-starts that the attacking team could kick for touch, providing the ball landed first in the field of play, and then went to touch, they would get the ball back at the point the ball crossed the line ??

| One rule that needs to be changed is the grounding of the ball rule, the only part of your body that should be allowed to ground the ball is your hand.
Not the back of your hand, not your arm, not your chest (that ones laughable) just anywhere on your open hand, it would clear up so many nonsense tries.

I'd like to see ball retension being a crucial factor of try scoring.
