| Is the graffitti on that bridge near Dallam still there, 'Welcome to Dallam'?.
Anothjer one, not thje oldest but one of the funiest I found was on the shop that is now Phils Store on Central Ave, Orford.
It was run by Pakistani's and local kids wrote on the roller shutters Gandi is a twit with an a. Obviously Gandi was indian and pakistanis and Indians don't exactly see eye to eye, just found it funny.

| Can't beleive nobody has mentioned 'The Phantom was here' contained within some kind of batman symbol on the side of peninsula house in orford. Has been there since at least 1981 and it looked old then!

Gandi is probably a 15 year old English born chav with Indian parents. I doubt it was a political message against Mahatma Ghandi.

| When you are on the train going past Old Trafford you go past a wall with "Charlotte is a Fat Grass" on it.
Coming up the main road into Leeds City centre "Welcome to Leeds. Now F--k off"
Behind the closest tube station to the Houses of Parliament someone has put MCFC.
Also recently there has been a spate of "tagging" in Headingley and Burley in Leeds, first someone was signing "Reggie Jackson" around recycle bins, walls, signs etc, now they have cleaned all that there is a load of emo graffiti with slogans like "love hurts, feel despair", "alone?" and sad face stick people being hanged.

| If we are moving away from old to funny, there was a sign erected a few years ago on the border between Fearnhead and Orford, saying "Welcome To Orford", which some witty chap deafced with spray paint, putting an S in front of Orford and and L over the first 'r'.

| The "KILL HULL KR" graffiti behind the back of the shops on reynold street has been there since I can remember. My dad tells me it was because it was believed it was Hull KR fans who burned down the main stand at Wilderspool.

| Quote: serge le forge "It's got to be "free Radio" on the old railway bridge on halfields road. I am 42 and it was there when I was going to Beamont infants school 37 years ago!!'"
your not wrong! it had "smoke pot" on the other side for years and years as well.
later it had "welcome to dallam, everything starts with an e " accross the top of the bridge as well.

| Near Orford Park and Hallfields Road there used to be and I'm told still is what was a old railway bridge a sign painted on the old railway bridge "Free Radio" My dad in the 1970's told me it was a free radio device for people during the war who had no radio. But I think its from the 1960,s radio Luxembeurg. Is it still on the bridge? As I moved away years ago,

| Going off on a tangent. Remember the old British legion opposite the museum. When it was derelict, someone had taken certain letters down from the "Warrington Royal British Legion" so it read "Wart on royal brits leg"

it's been cleaned off, however if you look closely you can still see where it was.
i remember first seeing the free radio statement in about 1973, was but a young wipper snapper then!
