Which is why his contract/money would be vastly improved next season, when we have certain players out of contract who'll be getting shown the door.
His best position is FB I reckon, but he is also a very good winger and can fill in at centre. Maybe Smith has realised Mathers doesn't look like getting back to being the player he was when he had him at Leeds.
Either way, I'd put a few quid on this coming off. |

If we got him in now, I'd be happy if he was given the fullback jersey, and held it moving forward.

Doesn't RU pay more money?
Why would he come to us over going back to Leeds?
Didn't he want to try and break on to the RU international scene?
