Fair enough, you've seen more of him than me.
Dropping a high ball is always going to happen to every player on occasions, I've seen Billy Slater drop a bomb and I've seen Lockyer and Inglis do likewise. However when a player does it as regularly as Mathers does you have to wonder. He made the error which ultimately cost you the game, but how many did he let bounce tonight? |

Mathers is good enough to play in our team. He was the best thing since slice bread when we won at Wembley. Its a team game and everyone who played last night deserve a pat on the back for a great game ( NO THANKS TO SILVERWOOD ). Its unfortunate that when a fullback makes a mistake its punished and noticed more. Ive watched Chris Riley come through the ranks at Wire and hes improved 200 % since he started and its testiment to him the coach and club that we have a player who can play in a number of positions and play them well. Get off players backs and support the team. REMEMBER KINGY AND MONNERS

Both Riley and Mathers each make a costly error almost every game now.
Its supposedly not good enough for other players Why these two....?

The problem with Richie Mathers game is that he's trying to do everything at a hundred miles an hour, his brain seems to be two seconds in front of his body For me all that's required of a fullback is to be secure on to a loose ball and be able to dump the opposition on their backsides in the tackle. Leave all the fancy stuff to the rest of the backs.

Mathers needs a spell in the academy working on the basics, I think too many coaches have got carried away after watching Billy Slater and decided full backs don't need to be able to tackle or catch kicks as long as they score tries.
P.S. Are you really proud of Matt King for squaring up to someone half a foot shorter, three stone lighter and a decade younger? Do you really think he would have the guts to pick on someone his own size? |

That game wasn't lost by mathers or any other individual, we lost it as a team the same as we won the last 3 as a team. On the night we wern't good enough. It Happens
