This signing has been coming before Hicks got injured.

That thought also crossed my mind. Long term because Hicks and Riley are both on contract for next year it tends to suggest the exit of Penny and possibly Johnson.

Unless Hicks injury is far worse than being broadcast.'"
The same reason Hull FC want a 33 year old Long when they already have Thomas Lee, Richard Horne, Danny Washbrook, Chris Thorman, Richard Whiting and Shaun Berrigan probably.

| When is this signed due to be announced, if indeed it is true? Is it a Thursday Guardian job?

Just about to say the same thing.
If this Carney signing is indeed the one that Tache mentioned then it was way before Hicks picked up his injury, the Carney signing is puzzling me somewhat, he's 33, has his fair share of injury's and we have move than enough people to play on the wing.
I hope you know what your doing Tony

Hull haven't had a good SH since Tony Smith.
Warrington have got good wingers.

| I would think that this will be either a signing until the end of the season, or on a mtch by match basis. We sold a centre, sacked a fullback/winger, and signed a fullback, so we have 1 space available in the backs. Carney will fill it until the end of the season. It gives us more cover, and if it doesn't work, then we haven't really lost a lot.

I would say Carney is an excellent signing strong and fast and if Tony Smith wants him who are we mere mortals to argue with it !

Impressive stats indeed:
"Carney made 21 appearances for Munster in his first two seasons and won four Ireland caps but only played in one friendly this season."

| Why are peeps getting their panties in a knot? We have let three backs leave the squad, brought in one, to date and have now added another.
Merely rederessing the balance of the squad.

Guinness usually give out those Bodhrans as well. Hopefully the club don't start selling these, as there's enough drums in the southstand already.
