| Always enjoy watching Leigh on a Thursday night on Sky, and Chris Hill has always stood out despite there being players around him with a lot of SL experience (Mills,Nash and Littler).
Looking forward to seeing him in the P&B next year. Really hope Leigh lift the Northern Rail trophy on Sunday.

Yes fee paid

(At Saints this would be classed as injury crisis)'"
Leigh play in Northern Rail Cup Final on Sunday. I don't think he will miss that match.
Also the salary cap. Unless we get rid of a player?'"
Correct hence why still at Leigh on DR

1 - Transfer fee paid how? Take That tickets again?
2 - The Leigh fans reckon it can't be Dual Reg as Leigh are already at their quota of 4? I'm sure Warrington wouldn't be complicit in the cheating of a competition rule.

He's signed for next year, if there was any breach of rules we'll hear about it. As a Saints fan I'm sure you'll let us know how that procedure works.

Well, if they are, they can take the points deduction this time!

To be fair I’m no longer sure if we have 4 still, we have Armstrong from Saints, and Blythe and Evans from Wire, not sure if Mitchell is still registered or not.
Still can’t really see any benefit in Hilly being register as a dual, other than we get to keep him, which we would have done anyway as he’s under contract.
What benefit do Wire get from him being on Dual?

Sometimes with Championship players its best top drip feed them a little bit of super league every now and then so that you don't over expose them too early to a higher level, a few of the recent championship players that have signed for SL clubs have been on dual reg deals, i'm pretty sure both Greg McInally and Zak Hardaker were originally signed on dual reg deals.
It works similar with under 21 players like Rhys Evans, give him a taste of SL every now and then but don't over expose them too early, keep their development going by playing them in the championship which is a lot higher than under 21's rugby. It works great for both clubs.

I understand that and that may apply for next season but if Hilly has signed now for Wire and then given to Leigh on a dual for the remainder of the season then he isn’t going to get a taste of SL this year.

Wire don't care, they've only signed him to stop Saints doing so. They're taking the Man City approach to transfers, sign everyone your rivals is interested in and they can never get any better. If they develop any talents themselves, sign those as well and you can't lose. Expect a 'Lomax to Warrington' thread on here by June next year

Maybe we can't fit him under the salary cap for this year until we have released players, so for the rest of the year it would make sense that he continues to play for Leigh and you pay his wages.

| Think with the dual lads it works the other way round the parent club pay their wages.

Thats correct!
Should Leigh crash out of the play offs then hes available so Wire would benefit as if they were short they could chuck him in!!

----Following Leigh Centurions in the Championship until the day I die. I don't beLEIGHve.----: |
|
| Think Its the first time I've posted on the Warrington board and noticed one thing after reading this thread:
'Saddened' - Bitter much?
Anyway seems Chris Hill has been with us forever and has always given his all. Mustve been a hard decision for him to leave us, but obviously the right one in going to the best team on the country at the moment. I cant honestly say I've ever cared much for Warrington, but seems our clubs are building a very friendly.....erm friendship, no doubt you will see a few Leigh shirts in the crowd, probably me included, next season to see how the duals and Chris are going on. Look after him, and we'll want him back if we ever reach the Holy Grail
Good Luck for rest of season.

But if Leigh crashed out of the play-off his contract with Leigh would be finished anyway, plus as good as Hilly is, it would be one hell of a gamble for Wire to play an unproven Prop in the SL play-offs.
BTW I’m not saying your wrong on this just trying to understand it, suppose if Hilly starts full time training with Wire that would be a benefit.
