| I nearly took my step daughter to her first game last night. Thank god that didn't end up happening as I reckon our relationship would have been irreversibly damaged and her mum might have been chucking the engagement ring back at me

| A win is a win when you’re that desperate. I’m not happy, but at least we have stopped the free fall.
Interesting on King, seems like we’re gettting Wardle until the end of the year, then he goes to Wigan. With King going permanently . Odd if true

| A wins a wins but flipping heck that was a tiring watch. Mikaele looks like the heft we need despite looking knackered at times.
Why do we keep kicking to opposition players? RL newbie question - but surely if we just kick it where they aren’t standing then we could make up a few more metres.
Felt tense too didn’t it.

| As awful as it was, I dont care.
Right now we just needed a win, we defended alright against hull's famed huge pack, and as keeps getting mentioned, heads didn't go down after any bad decisions or mistakes (of which there were a lot) including the thewlis no Try.
We played it basic, we got a win. Stopped the slump. Let's see if we can back it up next week now.

It’s a bit of a forgotten art. On the last, the wingers drop back to cover more surface area, but there is just no desire to kick earlier any more.
There has been a shift of mentality to make the other team defend every play and then put the ball in the air and the hang time will allow the chasers to limit the meters.
Personally, I yearn for bygone times. Kick earlier and turn them around, or if you do put it in the air then challenge for it. But it’s a game of percentages these days.

Its a bit like fielding in cricket, fullback covers x amount of pitch, the other winger covers the other. Kickers are under pressure to get the ball away and it's unlikely you'll get any distance if you keep it low, or it'll get charged down.
In most cases where it does hit the floor it's either a kick, or it's a good kick that the catcher is too lazy to get in position for.

Also, forgot to mention, despite it being bloody awful, it wasn't so bad that the crowd got on the players back like in recent weeks, and slowly in the 2nd half we started getting behind them and singing more.
