Put Patton in the halves and we loose our first 4 games then yes. It most definitely is the end of the world.

Here's a scenario for you - Patton in the halves means that Austin tries even harder to make things happen and make us fans happy. Widdop is 1 week from coming back and Austin takes a risk going through a gap that's not really there, gets clattered/injured and is then out himself for 6 weeks.....season over!

Here's a scenario for you. First game of the season vs Wigan. Patton is feeding the scrum, when the scrum collapses and George Burgess falls on him. Patton is ruled out for 5 months injured. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN WIDDOP!!! Season saved.

It's annoying but Patton to start at hb. No point shifting the squad around to accommodate for one injury.

Widdop can come in when fit. I hope it's not a pre curser for his time with us I think the odd injury is inevitable in the game. That's why we have a squad.

Heard Wire have been running 2 team scenarios. One with Patton at hb and the other with Ratchford.
I also heard the team with Patton at hb beat Ratchford's.

If we are going to put the strongest available starting 13 out then I think it will be Ratchford to the halves in order to slot Mamo in at FB. Patton may get a spot on the bench to give cover in the backs and to spell Daz Clark.

Yes, Mamo is weak under the high ball but at least he offers some attacking threat and Ratchford, whilst not always successful, will at least try things from half unlike Patton who offers nothing.
