To be fair, we played half a game - Parcell was ripping us apart and they were lacking quality on the bench, full strength they may have been out of sight.

But we had the stamina, and finally found some control and quality so fair-dos.

Powell out is ludicrous but we need to rediscover the spark and get 80 mins under our belt, certainly Catalans away next would be a good time to start.

Ok. Well I started off with I think it was before the season kicked off it was said somewhere that Powell only had so many games, so the first part was a question. My part is with what I’ve seen and listened to is not good enough with the squad assembled and yeh I expect more. So I then asked if the comment that was made preseason would apply at any other point in the season. I never actually called for Powell out a couple of other posters on here did but you chose to dig my comment out.

I suppose it could be worse given all the talk about the Giants being a force this season.

I just think we need to be patient. The last 4 have been iffy but Powell and the squad need time to iron out the issues. In reality he's only had this squad together for pre-season and half a season so far.

Fingers crossed we'll be ok.

1st half was one of the most forgettable 40 minutes I've witnessed in over 40 years. Any watching Aussies would've been laughing like the Cadbury's Smash robots. Picky ref, and we were dreadful. Far too much lateral movement from our 6 and 7, and no drive from our pack.
HKR's offloading was superb, and we fell for it.

Second half much better. Some strong running from Kasiano.

And yet we won both games. Wigan have lost their last two. They can have Dudson.

All of them would be happy to swap. We have precious points in the bag, we are winning some games when we aren't the best team and I don't think we have put in an 80 minutes performance yet.

I suspect its the weight of expectation, that has increased as this season has progressed, that is affecting our performances, especially as we are seeing other clubs not exactly looking like world beaters.

Suddenly, we've gone from thinking that top 4 will be a good season, to believing that it will be another missed opportunity if we don't win the whole thing.

I think the Cup has come at a good time. Bit of pressure off, hopefully the team can rediscover their mojo, which will then help with the following league performances.

10 weeks out that’s massive, the Dufty Thewlis situation sorted Russell out next week.

I was thinking more than top 4 after the Drinkwater signing. I then went to check the betting and at that time we were still 8/1 so I stuck £30 quid on, a few on here laughed said better spending my money on the gas bill. Reckon we are around 5/2 now so I have a small victory right now even if we did fall away eventually. But right now I’m winning.
