She doesn't mind wrestling and dirty stuff so probably is waiting for a certain candidate to become available.

Yes and Leeds coach D Powell had given Rob Burrow his debut against us if I remember rightly, so people were saying Hulse could be our Burrow, when Langer retired.

| 2 years ago I would have said Powell signing a masterstroke. Been on the slide since and not sure now. I work in Cas and heard he's bringing Mcshane and Trueman with him. Could be exciting times still....

| Well after reading nottinghamtigers posts I thought they were sour grapes regarding the style of play, so I went onto casforum to see what was being said - reeading the best part of 18 pages....... (I know - sad!).
Actually there was very little said about the style of play, but there were several key takeaways -
1. Powell is a very good coach and they didnt want him to leave
2. Truman could be at Wire, Cas or in the NRL next year
3. Growing feeling that Powell should go sooner rather than later (but certainly not a universal one)
4. Concerns that there's a problem in the board room at Cas and they've not ha does this well.
5. Powell could find it difficult at Wire with expectation, money and egos being higher. There's also a (minority) view that the Wire player list isn't up to much. (Strange considering Wane has chosen 6 or 7 players for the England squad and virtually every British player in the 1st 17 has played for either the full national side or the Knights. THIS is the key point for me. I want a coach that can get the best out of the players. Price doesn't or can't.
6. Evalds will probably stay at Cas (otherwise go to Wire), and probably McShane and Watts.
7. Concerned that Powell could end up 'poaching' rather than 'coaching' players.
8. Absolutely no mention of Powel taking coaching staff with him (And Orr left last year don't forget).
I'll be keeping a close eye on the Cas style of play to see if it's the same as nottinghamcas said.
I actually don't recognise that but time will tell.
I tend to think that Powell wanted to move on so that he didn't become stale, and wanted to develop himself further. I don't think his specific intention was to join Wire, but when it came up it became an obvious move that secured his future for 2022. I'm sure he may have liked to have had a chance of a slot in the NRL - maybe as a number 2 - but those gigs wouldn't have come up for some time and he had no real idea if he'd be given a chance.
Either way I don't think he thinks of Wire as a second choice.
The interesting point for me is if we play as badly as we did against Cas over the next 3-4 games will a move be made to bring Powell in, in some sort of swap deal with Hendo?
Or give the reins to Hendo?
After all Powell doesn't want to be coaching a Championship club...........

Well if Clark is going to be let go to have a gig in the NRL I’d take him as a replacement.Maybe the earlier poster that said he had heard him and Trueman coming with Powell could well mean Clark can go, but I’d rathe Clark stayed here.

Agreed, given the choice I wouldn’t swap Clark for anyone in SL, but if he was going to the NRL anyway McShane would be a good option for us.

| Now saying on Casforum that they have apparently turned down a 250k bid for Trueman from the Wire.

He is out of contract at the end of next season.
If he wants to leave Cas, he would leave without a transfer fee then. Hence I think Cas will cash in on a big transfer, if they can`t convince him to stay there.

| We don't really know the state of any club's finances, other than to say that they are not as healthy as anyone would like. It could well be that clubs such as Cas will be deeper in the sticky stuff than others and may have to off-load some playing assets in order to stay afloat.

A lot of people posted on here that Wane was nailed on for the Warrington job, but it didn`t happen.

Would seem strange timing given he's just become a father and there's been interest in him from Australia throughout his Warrington career. Also believe he had a good relationship with Powell at Cas so I reckon he'd been keen to work with him again.
