[iDec Patton (Warrington Wolves) was found guilty of a Grade D High Tackle charge in the Betfred Super League fixture against Hull FC on Friday March 2. The player contested the grading level but the tribunal were satisfied that it was the correct grading level. The player has two previous incidents of disciplinary on his record (including striking) and within the guidelines set out, a concussive injury should be an aggravating factor which occurred in this instance. Patton received a five-match suspension and £500 fine.[/i

| Striking? I can't think of when that ever was. Unless it was the broncos game and the scrap that never was.

| Quote: CW8 "I have no problem with the punishment, it looked clumsy at the time but there was no defence after seeing a replay. I agree with you regarding the consistency. You'll see incidents like that where a yellow card or just a penalty are given and almost certainly shorter bans.'"
Exactly in our game against Salford, the player Tasi put exactly the same head shot on Percival and nothing, another head shot on Peyroux a penalty, another head shot on Peyroux a yellow card.
For Patton it’s the fact the Hull Player was knocked out was the point of being a red card.
However with the disciplinary Patton has got the game bans but Salford’s Tasi has got away with 3 dangerous head shots and no ban.

we had that the week before as well, wigan got away with numerous headshots, we got pinged for one off clark that bounced up off a shoulder.
the only one wigan got pulled for was the tomkins one where he broke ratch's nose and impeded play after a break and then had a full on hissy fit at thaler. He's not even got a strong worded letter from the RFL.

| If we binned GO'B then there is no reason to keep Patton. The former is half the size of even Patton and still took on the line, took the ball to the line, and showed flare with his kicking game. Some of the stuff GO'B did didn't get enough praise.
He ripped Leeds a new one very early on for us with his kicking both short and long. I remember a bomb he put up against Wigan in the play offs, chased it down himself and made Bowen look a complete melon to score. That dummy he threw to score in the WCC fixture a few years ago. These are highlights that were few granted, but I literally can't recall Patton doing anything of note aside from his try in the GF. Ironically the only time i've seen him take the line on himself. He isn't up to it. Never has been.

| Well i think the acid test is - are any Warrington fans disappointed he will miss the next 5 games? Opposition fans will be more disappointed he's not playing.

| In fairness, his defence has been sound and he’s not much worse in attack than anyone else at present. I think it’s just frustrating that he’s not taken na game by the scruff of the neck when he’s been given the chance to show what he can do.
I hope Brown and Roberts finally click into gear on Friday.

| So what does Watts get for an intentional headbutt? As oppose to a reckless but uninentional high tackle?

It's come at the wrong time. Not much squad rotation over easter period now with us looking a bit threadbare.

We all think it was unintentional, but the panel decided there was intent.

Understood. But I see no reason why Patton cops for something that is deemed intentional but Watts gets off with something there is no denying was intentional.

So if he had done it intentionally how many games ban would he have got?
