| These are appalling considering the available designs we saw on the forum a while back. Is it anything to do with the supplier limiting the designs to a design and different colours for the clubs, it appears to have happened with Puma in the football?

| Said it time and again. ISC just recyle the same designs over and over again. the 2015 away was an exact reversal of the 2014 home, this years was a bolder version of the 2013 home (FTIW I actually think P&B vertical stripes has been our best looking kits in SL), this years is the same as 2016's home minus a white v. The away is an absolute disgrace.
We're primrose and blue. not blue with yellow trim.
Do we have a rolling contract with ISC? Because if not they need binning off. I'd like to see a design by Canterbury or even Addidas.

| Worst kit since Cullen got his crayons out in 1995. Saying that I don't care if we win the treble whilst sporting that cheap looking tat with silly sponsor. We've had nice kits with a worldwide brand for a sponsor in the last few years and we've been ruddy awful to watch.

| Really disappointing. You can see not much effort has gone into designing them kits. Not one to blow my own trumpet but me and Wirefan mocked up better kit designs in 10 minutes.
Worst we've had in years.

Shirt designers are never going to win, they are never going to be able to please everyone - be it the style, colour, collar, sponsor etc. it just will never fit the ideal.
If shirts don't change, albeit slightly or drastically, fans will never buy it because they will view it as a waste of money because it's the same as last year, and therefore clubs lose out on the revenue.
I take your point completely though, especially with the away shirt, it just looks like a plain black shirt with some yellow on the sleeves (similar to something Saints had a few years back). As much as I don't like the new Wigan away shirt, at least they have tried to do something different with it, while keeping the home shirt as traditional as they can.

| I would like us to establish a theme for the home shirt that can be tweaked each year (Saints Red Vee for example) and then variations for away.
When you start to about with the clubs colours and home shirt it's just another chip away at the tradition and soul of the club.
Also the addition of so many "stuck on" sponsorship labels, the shirt looks cheap and the brand is damaged. Are we that desperate for a few bob ?
As a previous poster had said, there were much more visually more appealing and creative designs posted on this site, by amateurs.

| I really like what Wigan do with their shirts.
Wigan tend do a 3 year rotation with their home shirts - traditional (classic c&w hoops), modern (more contemporary c&w hoops), something different (eg their 2011 "faded" one, the diagonal one from 2014, or last years one which the fans voted on).
2018 is back to traditional c&w hoops after last years "something different".
I like this as it strikes a good balance between keeping the traditionalists happy vs the fans of more interesting shirts, you know what you're getting as a fan, the club seem to put some thought and effort into the designs, and lastly, its a bit of fun.

| I always feel that teams home shirt should be (slight) variations on a theme - red vee, cherry & white hoops etc - as you say, it helps the club to come up with an identity and a brand, which if becomes successful, players, supporters, investors buy into.
How often do you see football teams veer too far away from the standard home shirt? Man United & City, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle etc. all stick with that same identity for the home shirt, but then seemingly let the designer go off on a tangent for the away shirt, either with colour or design, or both - and this is what the RL clubs should be trying to do, as that is what they are competing with in terms of merchandise sales.

Totally agree. The home shirt/kit should totally identify the team playing. This is the brand. So in a space of a few years the logo has changed to mixed reviews and this monstrosity of a shirt.
But none of it will matter if we play well.

Do you think this shirt will please a majority?

Not the majority, but as some have said on here, they do like it and I'm sure others will too.

| You'll struggle to beat the 2002-2003 Miller one we had with the hoops IMO.
That should be the basis for any of our kits IMO. A blue or primrose background with blue or primrose hoops.

well,i had heard last year (and weirdly despite the club having more leaks than the titanic, its not been mentioned on here) apparently we had Under Armour lined up as a kit supplier for this year, which fell through very late on, and we went back to ISC who pulled something together at the last minute, which might explain the late(ish) delivery to the store.
It might also explain why these are clearly 2011 away with the yellow chevron removed, and the 2016 home with the white band removed.
For the list of good actions that the club have done in the off season, i think this is now a black mark.
Though, not surprisingly, you've got weapons on facebook saying that they love both kits. I don't remember being that blindly loyal to the club.

| It's a kit. Who gives a flying fudge. It's not bad, just boring. Over the top reaction to everything on here.
