It's incredibly hard to sell the idea of a grand final to someone who doesn't watch RL. What? you finished top but you didn't win? Its a joke. We all know it. Its a money spin. It's too American, rings instead of medals... bands at half time. Sky want it to be like the Superbowl and it never will. British sport isn't like that and it never will be. |

Jeez, this old line: as has been pointed out on numerous occasions, RL has more often that not had its champions decided through play-offs, and was doing so nearly a hundred years before Sky came along!
What you mean is that football isn't like and it never will be. Although that doesn't stop football using play-offs to decide promotion: what, you finished third, but a team three places below you went up rather than you?
It's not a joke-we wouldn't have done the double in 1954 without play-offs. It's intrinsically linked to the history of our sport. There's no reason that can't be 'sold' to people, just because it's not what the Premier League do.
